It can be so frustrating to try to make sense of an “irregular” curve like Petey has been having. I wish I had some insights for you.
Good luck with the auto feeder today! And safe surfing :bighug:
We have one successful feeding, but I had to show it to him.... but once he figures out he is getting all his snacks in that room he might just start going there.. his internal timer is usually spot on. Also thinking I am going to see if I can run the same schedule a little later just in case he misses round 1.

Yay for the first successful feeding! Helpful he has a good internal clock. Does your feeder make a beeping noise when ready? I guess that's only helpful if he's near enough to hear it, but Binx started running once he made that connection.
Looking forward to hearing how the next test goes

Petey keeping you on your toes again today I see :D.
I think you might see another reduction-earning dip in the next few days. We'll see!
Glad it's so far-so good with the feeder. Noogi needed me to show it to him a couple times too, but quickly caught on.
If I am concerned that he really *must* eat his snack (if I'm out for a while, or he is on the low side) I usually add a little treat like a bit of a cooked chicken, or a spoon of his fav fishy food on top of the usual boring food - I think he might smell it. He always eats those snacks.

Based on how today went, even more glad I made more cautious decisions yesterday!

It's gonna take a bit for the feeder, he didnt notice any of the 3 snacks. Love the special snack idea, such a lucky little man!

Do you only use it for snack time?

Nice cycle today :D:D:D
Its took Kai a while to get use to the auto feeder, sometimes he still doesn't pay attention to it when it goes off, especially since we switched up his snack time.

Yes, only for snacks when I am out or sleeping. But the feeder sits on the same tray where I put down his main meals (and snacks if I am home) so it's not like he has to go to a different room or anything. It's all in the same place. I believe Staci puts all Ivy's snacks in the feeder to get her using hers.
I'm in the fortunate position of having a very food oriented cat. The words greedy and spoilt would not be inaccurate

Really proud of Mr. Pete! It feels like his snack times are all over the place right now cause we don’t have a green pattern for him yet.

There's gotta be an option to change the sound on this thing, me calling him might help or a can opening!

What a great day today for Petey!! Those unpredictable swings/sudden differences can be so frustrating. But he looks like he's doing a great job while you're both still figuring it out!

Which feeder are you using? If it's the PETLIBRO, no way to change the sound AFAIK. (I couldn't get Xander to use it, we returned ours. Hopefully Petey picks it up better!)

Thank you!

Yes, it is the petlibro. I swear I saw it advertised with that capability... maybe its a premium subscription. :bookworm:

If you figure out how to change the sound let me know… I will say Pookey has definitely learned the default bell noise lol
