Yesterday

No cancellations for today and 11 emergencies came in last night. So the vet office asked if we could wait until 1 today to bring him in. 2 1/2 hours left.

He is eating but picky. However, he has perked up so much. We even went outside this morning. He is now currently at the door because he isn’t happy I brought him back in.

I have an entire list of worries/concerns and questions for the vet. He now has a patch of skin on his neck where the hair in falling out in clumps. I’m wondering if that is also related to the pred.

I will keep everyone updated once we know more. Thanks for all the prayers, vines, and positive thoughts.

The tumor has gotten a lot bigger in only a few weeks. They gave him some fluids and a different pain med (bupe). Said to continue giving the cerenia and give the bupe instead of gabapentin. But ok to give them both together if needed. The bupe is 1ml twice a day for 4 days. I have 3 more doses of cerenia. With the rate of growth for the tumor, she doesn’t want to stop the pred ... would actually rather increase the dose, but given his reactions to pred we can’t do that. :( He will be heading to the rainbow bridge next Saturday morning. :(

My heart breaks for you and your family. Love on Gizmo, cherish him, take tons of pictures/videos and most of all spoil him rotten. Hoping for quite a few good days. Give him a kiss on the top of his head from me.

Neko took bupe (a higher dose) and Cerenia for a long time.
 
Oh hon, I sure wish I had some magic to make Gizmo better, it would be all yours in a heartbeat. I read this earlier, and just broke out in tears. I came back to reply and send my thoughts and started crying again. Gizmo and Mav sure have had a few good times in the lagoon together. I'm hoping and praying for a little rebound, with the extra pain meds, it may give you more days to enjoy his company and give him extra love. Sending heaps of :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:, and many more chin scritches for Gizmo.

They sure did have good times! :cat::) And those memories we will cherish forever. Maybe Maverick and him could plan to hang out in the lagoon or on the beach one night this week. Gizmo is free from ear pokies, but I’m sure he is still there waiting for his buddies.

ETA - Although maybe not ... he did have 2 pill pockets tonight.;)
 
I am so sorry for your prognosis. They take pieces of our heart. Give Gizmo extra head bumps and scritches from Phoebe and myself. I know you will cherish every moment. My heart goes out to you.

You betcha, the boys are sure to be planning some late night visits, the past few cycles, Mav's been dipping in the lagoon, then bouncing all day :rolleyes:...

Gizmo, mama seyz I should sneak some nice treats for you when we visit, I got some shrimp ice cream cones but I ain't supposed to eat any...shhh, don't say anything, one won't hurt :p
 
I'm sorry the vet did not have better news for you. I hope that Gizmo will have some good day's ahead and that you can enjoy your time with him.

I was so hoping for good news when I opened your condo. I'm just heartbroken to read that things are progressing with the tumor. You have made the best possible choice for Gizmo, and I hope you and he are able to spend a lot of quality time together in the days you have left, making memories to help you through what is to come. I hope it gives you peace to know you have done everything possible for him, and now you will be giving him the most priceless gift - his freedom. We will be keeping you both in our thoughts and prayers this week. :bighug::bighug::bighug:
 
I'm so very sorry, my heart breaks for you. Spoil and love on him as much as possible....let him eat and do what ever he wants with no testing. Give him extra scritches for me. Peace and love for your heart :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
 
Was so hoping you'd get better news :(

Will be sending vines for you to have a good week to make some wonderful memories for you to hold onto when it's time for him to start on his next big adventure to the Bridge.
