I just got off the phone with Gizmo’s vet. She said his bloodwork looks really good. T4 levels are still a tad bit high (4.4 & the high range end is 4.0). But given that Gizmo was due for his thyroid meds at the time of the appt, she believes that is probably the highest point of his day (said the numbers will fluctuate throughout the day). We are going to keep the dose the same and recheck in a month. Kidney values are normal. She said at this point it is unlikely that he has kidney disease! :) Sugar was 77! White blood cells slightly elevated, but she wasn’t worried about it since it could be due to stress.

Ultrasound tentatively scheduled for next Thursday, May 10th. Both doctors who do the ultrasound are pretty busy, but she is going to talk to them about squeezing Gizmo in. *paws crossed* She seemed to think it wouldn’t be a problem. We will know for sure on Monday.

vibes.gif U/S vines, feel good vines and lots of these too :bighug::bighug:

Hopefully they can squeeze you in sooner. I know how nerve wracking it is to wait. Blood work report sounds good.

Hope they squeeze you in for the ultrasound and you don’t have to wait too long. Waiting is the hardest part. The blood work sounds promising though. :)

Vines for Gizmo to have something clear to diagnose and easy to manage. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Ultrasound confirmed for Thursday. We have to drop him off in the morning and they will call when finished and with results. Also ... no food after 10 the night before. I found that a bit strange.

Woohoo on a confirmed appointment! That’s pretty typical for an ultrasound, if there is food on there, it makes certain things harder to see (I want to say the pancreas specifically). Sometimes they change the rules a bit and give shorter fast for diabetics, I had no such luck, it depends on the doctor. I think I fasted Asia after midnight, but her ultrasound wasn’t until around noon the next day. It was a long night of this sad cat asking me why I ignored her pleas for food.

Thanks for the info. I kinda panicked a bit and thought why do they need to put him under anesthesia. At least he isn’t on insulin anymore so I don’t need to worry. I’ll just have to ignore the crying. He doesn’t have a time. They are just squeezing him when they have a chance. The one doctor is doing surgeries, so if he finishes early he will be available. The other doctor is for emergencies only, so if no emergencies she will be able to do the ultrasound earlier.
