High this morning, well i suppose in his normal range; i started him on 4.5 this morning. he was high last night, but i think that may have been because i was 30 min late with his shot (highway accident had traffic backed up).

i had him at the vet Monday and they said his non healing wound (anal sac, where the fat pouch is pushed out) looked ok and would just take a long time to heal, but this morning, it looked like it had enlarged, as if the skin had pulled away from the fat and now there is a cavity, i filled it with the entederm ointment and am going to call the vet this morning.

I know they think its to dangerous to put him under and remove it, but ins't it just as dangerous to leave it...

sorry, i'm just worried and venting.

Not likely that the 30 minute delay caused the higher number this morning. Increases take time to work...could you please add some info to your Signature as to what kind of insulin you're on, date of diagnosis. The higher number could also be associated with the issue he's having with that wound...

Let's hope the increase helps get him into some lower numbers and that boo boo starts to heal. I hope the vet is helpful with that. Poor baby...

Have a good day, try not to worry. :bighug:

i think i got that added, thank you :)
this poor kitty; ever since he had an episode of anal sacculitis he just won't heal, its so sad. he's had this wound since april, it started as a gaping open golf ball size, and now its about the size of a nickle, with the the fat pouch, which is progress, but, man...

Unfortunately, diabetic cats heal very slowly. Luci broke her foot last October and she was in a cast for 3.5 months...the vet said maybe 4-6 weeks...she didn't take into consideration the fact that Luci is a diabetic. Many vet visits and checkups during that time to check for healing progress...but finally she was healed enough to get the cast off, her little foot was so weakened that she couldn't walk on it...but slowly over time she started to use that foot...and now she's running around and jumping like nothing ever happened.

Just keep doing what you're doing and have patience...lots and lots of patience. He'll get there :)
