Yesterday's Condo

Apparently, Cinco had decided he needs a pokey break. I don't mind that, but this one is dragging on a little longer than I'd like. I'm wondering about a fur shot, but my DH is pretty good about getting the insulin in, not on the cat. His fur doesn't smell like Lantus, either. :YMSIGH: I guess he's just being a cat. So, pokey break granted.

On the positive side, Cinco's appy is excellent today. He's hoovered up everything I've offered, even without garnish! I had DH give him a tramadol when he did the shot, as I decided to go to 3 times a day to see if that made him more comfortable longer. I'm wondering if it helped his appy. It did not make him less resistant to ear pokes and eye drops, however. :roll:

The other kitties have great appies today, too, except for Sasha. She had a dry heave right after I woke up this morning. I gave her the ond/pep combo and offered food an hour later. She ate 3/4 of it. I'm headed up to giver her and AB and offer another snack as soon as I finish typing this. I think her throat feels better (anti-jinx). I haven't heard that awful, scratchy cough in a couple of days. Paws crossed.

No bowling tonight - season ending sweepers are this weekend in Reno, then new season starts the Monday after Labor Day. I can't believe it's here already. Where did the summer go? Of course, in CA Labor Day doesn't really signal the end of summer - we'll still be hot for at least six more weeks. :sad: Anyway, we'll be home all evening, so it's okay if Cinco wants to take a dip in the lagoon (hint, hint).

That flat yellow could mean action tonight. I hope Sasha's appy gets better soon.

Thanks, Carla. That's what I'm hoping.

When I took Sasha her AB I offered her a "snack" of some moist food. She inhaled it!! I offered more, and that went, too. She ended up eating at least half a 3 oz can! I was delighted! :-D

She has, however, developed a "Trixie" complex. I have to offer her the plate, and put it right under her nose. If I just set it down near her, she just looks at it. I usually hold it for the first few bites, then I can set it down. When she's had enough, if there is some left, I set the plate near her, and it's almost always right there, food untouched, the next time I come in. If I pick the plate up and hold it under her nose, then she usually eats the remaining food! What a little diva! :roll: :lol:

Oh....I was sooooo happy to see that Sasha was feeling and eating well, until I hit the "Trixie Complex" comment :roll: :lol: !!! What thing to be famous for, Trixie :roll: :roll: :roll: !!! I am soooooo sorry my girl has had such an influence...I think she did the same thing to Shasta, too! These little princesses...what are we going to do with them? Yeah, I know...we're going to hold the plates and do whatever else it is they want us to do for them :lol: ! Rumor has it, we'll come back as well-loved house cats next time around....we've earned it!!

Yer bean won't tolerate those yellows for long, Cinco, better get down to business. Yay for Sasha eating! Even if you do have to hold the plate... :roll:

Maybe it's just a very LONGGGG bounce!

Now Cinco...you know how your mamabean is...better come on back down....just not all at once again!

China's on the bank of the lagoon with a campfire and hotdogs! I'm still hoping she'll take a quick dip, but as long as she's safely on shore, and not lost in the woods somewhere, I guess I'll take it!

YEAH for Sasha eating! Maybe we should design some nice butler outfits and buy some expensive gold rimmed china for our aristocratic kitties to eat off of if we're going to stand there and hold the plate? :lol:

I was talking to DM today about the fact it's almost Labor Day! Where did the summer go?? The kids started back in school here today too! Soon it'll be Halloween, then Thanksgiving and then Christmas!!

Hope your kitties all keep up the good appy's! I know it makes you feel so much better when they're eating well (even if you're holding the plate!)

Cinco did not listen to his LL aunties about his BG. I'm suspecting a fur shot more and more, and DH said it could be, although he didn't think so..... :YMSIGH: Well, we know the PM shot went in, so let's see what happens tonight. He required a little coaxing and a lot of FD salmon, but he cleaned his plate.

Sasha ate about 1/3 of hers, with me hovering, after I set the plate down. Now Minka is being the diva and has refused two different flavors. I told her to take it or leave it. She usually takes it, eventually. We'll see who cracks first. :?

What an interesting cycle for Cinco- flat yellow often means clearing a bounce. But then again, he's a cat and has to keep us guessing! :lol: I hope all of the kitties are going to eat their fuds- summer heat is hard on them IMHO! I can sure relate on the Where Did Summer Go sentiment! :YMSIGH:

Wow, it's just one thing after another for your house! I hope all kitties ate their fuds tonight. Silly kitties! At least Cinco cleaned his plate. I hope that he will slide on down for you...not too far tonight like yesterday :shock: . Have a good evening, Tricia :-D
