Update on Dak since last post (it has been a while), we have a follow-up appointment scheduled with the internal specialist (on 9/20/2024), as the internal specialist and ourselves are not pleased with Dak's BG values. We do plan to get Dak tested for acromegaly and IAA, to see if that may be causing all of the pink pancakes, even with 15 units of insulin twice a day. We did take your advice @Wendy&Neko, and started doing his insulin dose increases as 1.0 unit increments instead of 0.5 unit increments.

Something is causing insulin resistance - he does seem to like pink! Good luck with the appointment wit the internist. The tests are key, not all cats with acromegaly (if that) show clinical signs. Neko's only signs were ravenous hunger, and her dose. I did find out later than her one eye that teared sometimes, may have been due to soft tissue blocking her eye ducts. Pretty subtle symptom.

He yeah, he really does and thank you! Interesting about Neko's symptoms, especially the one eye that would tear up sometimes, as one of Dak's eyes has been tearing up every so often for a while. We assumed it was that he maybe messed with it or something (which may be the case or if he has acromegaly, could be a symptom).
