Here is the link to your previous post here: https://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/suzy-6-22-try-again-question.231342/ Please include those links so people can easily see the history. Last time there was a discussion of dosing methods. People here use one of the Tight Regulation protocol of the Start Low Go Slow Method. If you pick one of those, please put either SLGS or TR in your signature. Once we know which dosing method you want to follow, we can help with dosing suggestions. What I would suggest would differ based on dosing method.

It doesn't matter if the new diet is low calorie - what is important is the % of carbs.

typo I mean low carb not low calorie. Im just looking for general thoughts not specific to a dosing method. Still never really feel like i got my bouncing question answered. Numbers high then low then high every day.

Yes, your cat is bouncing a lot. Did you test before or after that 59 today? I suspect you cat maybe going lower when you aren't catching it. How would you feel about trying a dose reduction to 1.75 units?

How often are you feeding Suzy? It looks like she drops really fast after her shot. Spreading her food out in the first part of the cycle might slow those fast drops. Both fast drops and going lower than they are used to can cause bounces.

Hi, I am not home during the day consistently to test so I have what I have. When I have tested more often During the day when I'm home 6 hours seems to be her NADIR so I really don't think she is going any lower.

I usually feed 4 or 5 times a day. Anything at or below a 100 is lower than normal for her i assume because of this new diet so When does the bouncing stop or what's bad about bouncing? Thanks

It's very normal for newly diagnosed cats to bounce, and even some who have been diabetic for years. Don't worry about bouncing.

I don't see evidence her nadir is +6. It can often be later in a bounce breaking cycle. When you get a number in the 50's, you really should test 1/2 hour later, to make sure she's not going lower into dangerous territory. I still think you should try reducing the dose to 1.75 units.

I have no way to do 1.75. I would have to do 1.5 or 2. I have no way to test more than once during the day I come feed my cats test and go back to work. I don't like it either it's not ideal. There sure seems to be a lot of talk about dancing if there's nothing wrong with it that doesn't make any sense to me.

Are you using 1/2 unit marked syringes to give the insulin? We eyeball the 0.25 unit changes. There are some pictures in the Sticky Note on Fine Dosing that shows you how.

I am just worried you are overdosing your cat.

Hi that's the part I don't understand if I'm over dosing her why is she going to 500 when it's closer to insulin time?

I Have a hard enough time seeing the marks on the shot let alone to do anything in between.

Get readers or a magnifying glass, or craft or head lamps with magnifiers. Use a light background to see things better.

Hi, thanks anyway already done all that to see marks already on it. I still want to understand before a change for dosing. why is she going to 500 if I'm overdosing her?
