Hi everyone, and thanks for accepting my request. My 10 year old tomcat has Pancreatic Insulinoma and Hypoglycemia is the symptom of it. Since bloodwork was consistent with low glucose the last 2 times, I asked for Internist to do additional testing. Internist told us that she saw nodules on the spot in Pancreas that's not promising for surgical removal and plus he has CKD and heart murmur so it's risky to try surgery. We opted not to proceed with surgery. He isasymptomatic for now, he is eating homemade food balanced by vet nutritionist, high proteinand moderate fat. We didn't start Prednisolone cause our vet suggested boosting his immunesystem and not to start Prednisolone yet. No vets are familiar with Insulinoma in cats due toits rarity, it's rare in dogs too but more commonthan in cats, so they don't even know what tosuggest. I was told that basically whatever supplements or herbs are used for hyperglycemic cats, diabetic cats can be used for Hypoglycemia as well, but I wanted to check it out first with any group of owners who are managing diabetic cats and know more about nutrition. My question is, does any member have any experience with Hypoglycemia and maybe Insulinoma in cats? I apologize again for asking here cause this is a group for diabetic cats, but I was suggested to try in this group to ask. Thank you
