Ginger bites me when giving him his injection or stands up trying to walk away mid injection. I'm assuming it is hurting him so I changed the site where I was giving him it but doing same thing

What insulin are you using? Lantus can sting and some cats will react to that. Another thing that can help is to pull the skin up high and taut when you make the "tent". This pulling of the skin can offset the sensation of the needle going in.

My Patches used to do that. Now I inject when she is finishing her food.

He is on caninsulin I pull skin up high but when do it too taut he snaps at me, tonight when I was in middle of injection he snapped at me and needle came out and bent as he moved he hadn't received full 4u so I had to re inject him and give him the rest

Maury recently started biting at me a little now for his shots. I try to roll the tented skin while sticking the needle in. Sorry it is kind of hard to explain in words. I will tag @Elizabeth and Bertie for you, she is in U.K.

You might try a different method giving the shots
It's kind of hard to explain, but you grab some fur between your thumb and forefinger and then "roll" your wrist to pull the skin away from the muscle (gently of course)...where the fur "breaks", you can see skin and it's fine to shoot right there

My boy doesn't bite but he does not like to get the shot when he is sitting-when he is standing he hardly notices.
I recently started to shoot in the belly--just for absorption reasons and he is fine with that as well. For the record he has lots of belly to shoot

What gauge needle are you using? If it's the Caninsulin syringe it's a pretty big needle 28,29 gauge and Ouch!
Maybe try a smaller needle?
I was using the u40 Caninsulin syringe but every injection my poor kitty was getting more and more upset. I switched to a u100 syringe with a 32 gauge needle and she barely notices. You need to convert the amount of insulin though to switch! A great chart is on this site.
