Dr. Elsey's Clean Protein Kibble

Hi, before I'm reprimanded, lol, I know I am behind on my spreadsheet (due to working long hrs) but Celia's BG numbers have been steady and within normal range on insulin for quite some time and is still stable according to data here and her vet. However, her numbers are still in my meter, I just have to transfer them. My question is: she's been on Dr. Elsey's Clean Protein Chicken Kibble/Dry (which is LC) for quite some time in addition to Friskies wet pate cans bc I am gone for long hrs, so the frozen wet food trick doesn't always work and she always loved crunchies pre-diagnosis. However, this item is often not in stock anywhere, yet I can sometimes find another flavor instead (duck, turkey, rabbit, pork, etc.). Does anyone know if any of these are LC? Thank you in advance.

@Angie & Celia (Cruz)

Carbohydrate amounts can be found on the Kibble Values Chart

https://www.drelseys.com/faqs/what-are-the-carbohydrate-amounts/

Tap on where it says Kibble Values Chart it will give you the carbs and flavors

Thank you so much, never noticed that on their site. Would you know what the difference is between "Dry Weight Kibble" and "As Is Dry Kibble" on that chart? And it's been so long since I've done this: Does the percentage of carbs have to be 7% or less?

@SmallestSparrow
Hi Colleen would you know the answer to what Angie is asking about what the difference is between "Dry Weight Kibble" and "As Is Dry Kibble" on that chart? ( Dr Elsey's Kibble Chart) See post number two
Thanks

"Dry weight kibble" is the weight% with all the moisture/water removed. "As in Dry Kibble" includes the small amount of water that is in dry food.
Note that Dr Elsey's table s in weight % whereas the % carbs term used in this forum refers to the % calories from carbs.
NOTE:
Fat: 1 gram = 9 calories
Protein: 1 gram = 4 calories
Carbohydrates: 1 gram = 4 calories

Thus, the weight% value from carbs in the table should be higher than the % calories from carbs.

Hi, a few weeks ago I contacted Dr Elsey’s customer service and asked about the carb % in the chicken kibble. Replied it is 2.69%. Mauser absolutely loves it. I might try the canned to see how he likes it. Carbs in the canned are around 10% on a dry matter basis, which his vet thinks will be fine. He’s recently diagnosed and on Senvelgo.
