I signed up for this forum only a few days ago, but I just got around to making my chart and uploading it, at the advice of someone on the intro forum. I ended up on this forum because my vet did not tell me remission was possible, however Leo's required insulin has been increasingly less and some days i have skipped dose, just to find him still around 130-140. I use a ReliOn Premeir human meter, and only just learned that the numbers may not be face value. I have read in some places that ideal numbers for human meter are 50-120, some places say 120-300. I only began testing him in the morning and evening a few days ago as you can see in my chart, I've reduced his insulin to 1u although I recognize that his numbers are technically a little high according to some sources. Do you think it is possible that he's approaching remission? When he was sent home from the vet, his original insulin dose was 5-7u, getting the exact same numbers he's now getting with 1u. His BG levels have been very well maintained since the day he came home from the vet, and I'm trying not to get too hopeful but he's definitely been taking it like a champ. If someone who's experienced with Novalin N could just drop me some of their ideas regarding this, I'd be so appreciative! Thanks!
