Maybe a mess?

My SS and notes thereof kind of tell what I'm talking about/what's going on. My Princeton's numbers are doing okay, but confused what to do with his dosing now due to my errors while I was sick. He's doing well, but I don't know what I should do to get back on track.

Please note that there is a change in there for some readings where I went to a vet meter and then back to Relion meter again.

Ugh... more gray hairs, more gray hairs... Lol!!

What's the next step to get him 2x a day again?

Yes, with the exception of 4/8 AMPS. I found a stray strip for the vet meter I hadn't used so I used it there.

first of all, it's harder to track trends when you switch meters back and forth, so please for the spreadsheet pick a meter and stick with it.
Now looking at the numbers with the human meter... "Normal" is 50-120. When people first start this journey and have little data we urge them not to shoot if the preshot is under 200. Now that we have quite a bit of data, I would recommend that you do shoot when it's under 200 but over about 130. We want to keep his numbers under 120 (but over 50) as much as we can because that's when the healing happens. I like those high double digit numbers. Totally skipping the morning shots is causing a bit higher pm numbers. I must say overall how much of an improvement we are seeing this week!! Awesome.
I'm a big fan of sliding scales with Vetsulin... Some don't like sliding scales as much as me, but I think it works well for in and out insulin's like vetsulin. It definitely worked for me. This would be my recommendation for the next few days (provided you can catch mid cycle testing). Insulin needs when you are getting into these lower numbers change quickly which is why I say for the next few days, then I would look at the new data and reevaluate/adjust.
under 130 no shoot (in the future I may recommend doing .25 120-130 but lets get a little more data on what happens with shooting those low numbers.)
130-150 .5U
150-175 1
175-200 1.5
200-250 2
250- 300 2.5
300-350 2.75

I'm curious to see if bringing down the dose a little on those higher numbers will balance out the morning a little more, and shooting those lower numbers will make those pm numbers a little lower.

I gotcha on the meter translations. I just happened to get a vet meter from the vet (bless him) and it came with 25 strips. I took advantage of those strips. Although I'd love to be able to continue using that meter... my budget barely affords the strips for the Relion.

Thank you so, so much for advice for seeing a way to balance him back to a 2x day dosage. I definitely know I boo-boo'd in several ways and feel horrible. My only rationale in reflection is the not too long ago loss of my other furbaby, Sunshine, to DKA suddenly. I was extremely close to her. So I get scared about numbers going high... that I won't catch it. I know it probably sounds silly.

Anyway, I will start following this right away and hope it does the trick.

Give me your thoughts... I think I may have to adjust that PMPS to 2u or 1.75u in order to dose at AMPS? He's getting lower where no dose can get in for that time. His appetite is biggest during +6 time, but he's more alert than he's been in a while.

So to follow up where I left off. I had got a call from Jennifer from DCIN re: Princeton and she was more towards your first plan, plus reducing his pm dose to 2u. So I did that, tested him +5 and then he had a snack. I tested him again @ +7 when he seemed a little dazed to me and he was at 76. I then gave him a little amount of gravy food.

This morning he tested at 197. I only wanted to give him a little dose so we did .5u...an hour later he vomited. I waited a while tested his BG 202. Then he ate again. About 1 1/2 passed this time and he vomits again. So I wait some time comforting him, but he wants to play. About 20 minutes later he vomits again. I then take his BG 270, but no snack this time... not until +11 I try some snack and he refuses. I open a can of tuna to get juice to put over HIS food and he is yelling with glee (it's the can opener - everything with the can opener MUST be his!). I put some juice over his food and my little man manages to separate liquids and solids with his mere tongue... And proud of it!

So... Now what? Besides the vomiting, he's being himself for sure.

What do you think caused him to get sick? Are too fast? Hairball? I'm glad he's acting normal

I thought maybe hairball bc he's not showing me any other signs. I did give him some hairball stuff after he ate, but before all the vomiting. He's been doing a lot of grooming the last couple days (I guess since he's feeling better), so that's why when he I heard him cough this morning... But I waited until after he ate to give him the hairball stuff when I heard him cough again, which was shortly followed by his food... and so on.

I gave him 2u tonight. You think I should add another .5u or no? I did do BG late (he was already 5 minutes or so into eating), plus stress of bribing me into smothering his food in the tuna juice to eat it... oh, I guess the vomiting today too.

Btw, where in NJ are you? I keeping wanting to ask, but I'm usually so flustered. I'm from NJ... Millstone in Somerset County. You familiar with there?

Ah... Been to concerts there many moons ago!

Sounds like a plan, although he's not even phased by the insulin shots. He's gets irked sometimes by the BGs only because he has a better ear to prick. Reminds me of my daughter breastfeeding, lol.

He's napping now so hopefully his tummy will settle.

His BGs been on the rise again. Jennifer at DCIN right perhaps he was headed for a remission that's why there were no shoots in am and the low dose in pm. But with his #s increasing I cannot just sit and not increase his dose anymore. Her theory was by his history, the higher his dose - the higher his BGs. So I'm taking it very very slow with him. He is eating some Friskies pate now too and also eating some more, which he did need to gain some weight. On the other side, he's been playing more, so I'm getting activities in with him. Jennifer said she would like to switch him to Lantus so that will eventually take place.
