Missed 2 shots

I had to leave for a family emergency had no one who could test Lionel prior to insulin so I decided he would miss 2 shots, but I’m home now and wondering I usually give his shot at 10-10 but could I restart to 8-8 since he is probably not feeling to hot and want to get him better ASAP

I wasn't a Lantus user so... By 2 shots do you mean a 24 hour cycle? What are his numbers now and/or when you got back home?

Are you talking about switching his shot times from 10 to 8? If he's missed a couple shots, that could be an option. You wouldn't want to shoot two hours early normally, because of the overlap with the previous shot, but if that previous shot was 36hrs ago, you should be fine. If the 8am-8pm schedule will work better for you going forward, go for it!

Thank you!!! I just want to get it back into him ASAP, I’m apologizing to him over and over because I know he ain’t feeling good, but I was too paranoid to get my cat sitter to give him insulin without testing before, feel bad for having to leave, and worried about them the whole time LOL cat mom life is rough

I think we've all had that feeling of sugarcat guilt! It will all work out, you'll get back on track when you get back to him. And he'll forgive you! Post here if there's anything you're concerned about (lower-than-expected pre-shot numbers, or if he seems to be doing especially poorly after the skipped shots).

Any time you miss a shot for whatever reason, there's at least 24 hours between shots. You can adjust your shot time with no problem since you're beyond the 12-hour window. If you plan to shoot at 8:00 and at some point you want to get back to your previous shot time, you will have two options. You can move your shot time by 15 minutes at each shot time until you're back on schedule. Alternatively, you can move the shot time by 30 minutes once a day until you're back on schedule.

FWIW, my kitty would not let anyone, and I do mean anyone, except me test her. I had very experienced pet sitters -- they were vet techs who worked in a feline only practice. They could shoot -- mainly because there was food involved -- but only Gabby's mom was allowed to test. I would reduce her dose in order to insure she was safe since my pet sitter was shooting blind. You've welcome to look over Gabby's spreadsheet to see what I did. (Most of the time I was traveling is grayed out.) We're happy to help you figure out what a good dose would be if you're having someone else shoot.
