New to Vetsulin

Hi,
I have a 10 year old male diabetic cat. He's been on insulin for a week and half. His vet has increased his insulin to 3.5 units tid.
I checked his insulin and it's still in the 600 range. I've changed his food to Purina prescription DM wet food. He is constantly hungry. Any suggestions on helping to get his insulin numbers down. Thanks in advance.
