One of my other fur babies, Hot Rod, Non-diabetic has excessive eye boogies. I asked the vet about it before and she said his eye was fine and to use saline drops, but that it could be feline Herpes. My parents cat has feline herpes and its cats eyes will water or crust. Hot Rod's is an eye boogie, or better grosser terms an eye jelly. It happens VERY frequently, and its not just a small amount of goop in the corner of his eye. It seems to come from his third eye lid but, as gross as it sounds, when I go to wipe it away it will be a long strand of gel, honestly probably about 1/4" to 1/2" long. His eye is not red, he doesnt rub it and is annoyed when I go and wipe his eye. My vet has told me that the only way to determine if it is herpes is to put him under anesthesia and lance part of the eye, I will not do this since theres no other symptoms and it doesnt seem to bother him except me annoying him lol. Any experience with something like this?
