Hi there. I posted on main page but need help. My cat was diagnosed on Feb 28th. She was put on ProZinc. Started on 1 unit twice a day. Three days later was increased to 2 units twice a day. Four days later was increased to 3 units twice a day. Then 4 days after that increased to 4 units twice a day. She was still having high reading and was switched to Novolin N two days after that at 3 units twice a day. She was still having readings of 500-600 and increased to 4 units twice a day less than a week on the Novolin. She does not seem like she can handle the Novolin as I was also told it’s harsh for them. She is 17 with other health issues. I’m taking to another vet tomorrow. I don’t know if I should give 4 units of Novolin tonight or use the ProZinc I have. Or what dose. Or use nothing until I get another opinion. She doesn’t eat a ton before as she’s not liking her new diet. I feel like my vet who is a specialist in oncology doesn’t know how to treat the diabetes because I feel three weeks and all the changes have been horrible for her. Don’t know what I should do.
