J.D. had a blood test and was low in potassium and sodium, and I had noticed him walking low to the ground (in the front end). Our regular vet no longer sells Potassium Gluconate, so at first said that I should go to the grocery store and buy a steak seasoning that has potassium. I said I would prefer a prescription and she said she would call around and let me know if anyone else had it. I had to go pick it up at an ER hospital and when I finally got the prescription filled, it was RenaKare Gel. I asked the Receptionist how I was supposed to get the Gel into the syringe. J.D. is syringe fed at the moment. She said that's what your vet ordered. I asked her again and she hiked up the stairs and said maybe I could squirt it into a 1/2 tsp. measuring spoon and then suck it up with the syringe. I have been putting the syringe into the small opening at the end of the RenaKare tupe and trying to squeeze the gel out at the time I am sucking with the syringe, but a bunch of air gets in and the gel is just so hard to get any to come out of it into the syringe. I thought about warming it, but it says to store it at certain temperatures and 86 degrees is the highest.

Has anyone else had any experience with this gel?

I have not.

You could try squeezing out the measured amount into a clean container, draw up what you need, mix with some of the mushy food, and give it that way.

Or, maybe look online for potassium gluconate and see what forms, and what binders and fillers come with them. You might be able to find a powder, or use a mortar and pestle to grind up a tablet.

You can try removing the syringe plunger and squirting the stuff into the back end of the plunger. When I syringe feed my cats I use a little spoon and fill the syringe that way.
