    Hi there,

I searched the message board and surprised I didn't see too many prior messages about this. Or maybe I was using bad search terms.

I understand that prozinc should be refrigerated to keep its potency. My vet said it was because we don't want light to get to it and not necessarily the coldness is needed. Has anyone else heard this?

When I order prozinc online, it always come with a cold package so it seems like refrigeration is necessary?

I accidentally left the vital (in its cardboard box) out on the counter but away from the sun for about 12 hours yesterday. It was about 65-70 degrees yesterday. I didn't see any floaties this am so I am hoping the vital is okay. Any thoughts?

My cat is pretty bouncy but we will test him to see if the insulin is working. Thank you!

The manufacturer information says: "Storage Conditions: Store in an upright position under refrigeration at36-46°F (2-8°C). Do not freeze. Protect from light." (http://www.prozinc.us/content/dam/internet/ah/prozinc/us_EN/documents/ProZinc_Product_Info.pdf) I think the temperature, not just protection from light, is important.

Your insulin is probably still fine. Sometimes, people make the mistake of leaving it out. As long as it looks okay, I would use it. Testing will tell you whether it is still effective... I would expect it to be okay.

So was the ProZinc ok? I did the same yesterday. From 7am to 7 pm it was left
out. It looked clear not frosted. I almost had a heart attack. Vet said it will probably be ok, No floaties.
