Unusual Low numbers - Dosing help needed

Webbox is gravy and jelly - I bought the jelly one (I did buy the gravy one by mistake but he hasn’t had any). I only tried feeding him this about a week ago (when we started getting strange numbers) so maybe this is the key !
Good spot - so try keeping this out of the diet for a while at least. I know food differences are confusing but some cats are more sensitive than others to a few carbs and you do need to keep Sooty on a good diet if you can now, given his age. I'd try the Natures Menu / Country Hunter varieties as I mentioned - much better meat/protein content than Felix etc which is important for older cats. I buy from Fetch www.fetch.co.uk which always has offers and delivers free over a certain purchase amount.

Not sure if I caught you or not but yes I'd stick to 1.25u. Don't worry about that higher Pre shot. It could be some bouncing from those lows (albeit good lows) he's been experiencing the last couple of days.

Hi

My routine is to withhold food 2 hours before PMPS, feed (and I make sure he has a good plate full (and sometimes that has to be a mix of Felix and Whiskas). I’m tempted to feed again at the +1 (even if it’s just a snack or a few mouthfuls to slow down the caninsulin)

Correct, with Caninsulin though you need to wait two hours, test, feed, wait 20-30 minutes and then shoot. Food needs to already be on board when you use Caninsulin. If you're not waiting that 20-30 minutes it may be contributing to those steep drops.

Yep you caught me in time ! he decided he wanted to go out and it’s raining so was hiding from me for 20 mins !
Just given 1.25 (or as close as I could get it on the syringe) and will monitor for at least the next 3 hours before I need some sleep !

Hi amy, I've been following all day and you have done brilliantly, Sooty is a lucky chap.

I've started feeding Natures Menu from pets at home, it's really low carb and Toby loves it. It's a jellyish pate if you can imagine that. They also do a kitten version, which is very low carb but higher in fat, (if sooty needs a weight gain). Also easy to "chew" texture if his teeth are sore xx

Thank you ! I’m trying my best for him.
I’m going to go to pets at home tomorrow and get some natures menu food. Sooty is a big boy (he doesn’t need to put weight on) but I think something that might be easier for his teeth will be a good call ! Thanks for the tip - he likes pate so we’ll give it a go xx

Natures menu also do some "treats" which are zero carb. These are a total godsend for us as we can push a tablet into the soft texture, also good for sore teeth. Toby goes crazy for them!

+3.75 (3 hours and 45 mins after shot) 9.9.
I’ve given him a little bit of food to make sure he doesn’t drop too quickly or any further big drops through the night
I’ll do 1.25u in the morning after his amps and try and do a curve tomorrow
Thanks for everyone’s help today
Amy and Sooty xx
