I'm glad you were able to get the knee surgery scheduled. I hope they'll be understanding at work and things go well with all your test. Sending prayers. Sorry about your water heater. I hope Bella surfs safely for you today.

    Oh no! :bighug::bighug:

    When it rains it pours.

Is it gas? Ours is electric and we had to replace ours a few years ago. Luckily hubby is mechanically inclined and was able to do the work. The water heater was about $400 I think.

All electric in good old Florida, huh? We had ours replaced last Summer - I think with installation it was about $1000... If your DH is handy, there's always HomeDepot - I saw a guy leaving with one not long ago - a DYI'er for sure. What a hassle! I have a friend here in Michigan who had her knee replaced yesterday - all went well - just waiting for her to get released from the hospital now - she'll be back to normal in no time at all :) I'm sure you'll do just fine - get ready for that PT - oh, so much fun there.

At least Bella is looking good today - what nice numbers he has lately - Luci can take a lesson!

I know everything at once is very over whelming. I'm not trying to make light of this, But it will all work out, think of the positive side, you will have a knee that no longer aches and hurts and you will have hot water to soak in:)

    Wishing you a successful surgery!!
And on the positive side, Bella is doing wonderful:D:D

I missed a few days, did you move to your new house yet? Too bad for the water heater, maybe your friend will be able to do the job!
Such a good thing for your knee; you'll feel so much better after. Hope everything will be fine with your job!
So, new house, new knee, new water heater! :) and Bella always doing good!

Glad the knee surgury is scheduled. Theresa had her hip replaced in January. Recovery was surprisingly fast.

Water heaters are easy to replace, especially electric. Maybe a neighborhood handyman could do it for cheaper. And maybe the heating element could be replaced instead of a whole replacement. I've done quite a bit of work on our house - built 300 sq ft glass sunroom, replaced switches and light fixtures, plumbing, etc. But I don't work on other houses LOL:eek:

I agree with Lizzie... when it rains it pours, it can be so overwhelming to deal with all of these sorts of things at once. Would it be lawful for your employer to dismiss you over something like a surgery? I don't think it would fly in Canada, it's kind of like discrimination. The water heater is a bummer, I hope it's an easy fix.

I had a day like this in March: three of my very close work friends quit, two completely a surprise to me, and moved out of town. THEN my older sister called me from across the country to let me know that Mowgli was diagnosed with diabetes and mom wanted to put him down :( I got home from work and took a bath to decompress and process all this news / strategize on how to mitigate Mowgli being euthanized, and Ross yelled up to me to let me know there was a leak in the ceiling of our new house  turns out there was no seal on the tub overflow... so I know the feeling of when it rains it pours, but I also know every thing will work out for the better... like Lyane said: New house, new knee, new water heater :D

Also, Bella is looking great today! I hope that he surfs safely today and entices Mowgli into that Tiki Hut of his!

Good luck with your employer, I hope they are understanding :)

The single lady moved in next door about 10 years ago. Within a couple days she was talking about the sprinkler system, hinting that I "could help" fix whatever was wrong. That is a trick question to see if I do neighborhood services for free, or at all. I was nice and said I didn't have time. That is part of home ownership.

Oh how I understand that!

I was going to quip, ask the surgeon if s/he is handy with water heaters, too. :p

....but I hope the day works itself out. An awful lot happening too early! :bighug:

Well, heck - there is YouTube. :joyful: I helped hubby. The issues you would have is transportation of new one home and getting the old one to the curb. Electrical hook up is pretty straight forward just need to make sure breaker is off before you start and don't turn breaker on till water heater is filled (coils will burn out if not immersed). The other issue we had is we replaced with a smaller capacity and hubby had to build a platform for the new one to sit on so the hoses and electrical would reach. It really isn't a complicated process it is just dealing with the large, heavy objects.

If I was closer I bet we could do it by ourselves :D and I have a truck!

Is someone going to be there to help you during your recovery? Mom?

Yes you and I could do it, we r waiting now to see if it makes hot water, but he (my friend)thinks it’s the wiring which he and I will trade out if this doesn’t work, if new wiring doesn’t work then have to save for new hot water heater
As who’s gonna help me during recovery, all my family lives in ky so I have no idea, probably on my own

Now there is a correction that I absolutely love. I hope he can go down even further....like to ZERO!

This is the gentle hint to start a new July-Dec 2019 spreadsheet. My page down button is wearing out here.

There's that little ray of sunshine for your day. :bighug: 2.25 units to start the year - I love looking how far he's come this year. Takes me no time at all to scroll down.;) Go Bella!

73 year old friend had her second knee surgery in January, and was back rowing with us in April. See if you can find a cheap or free stationary bike - she claimed getting on that as soon as possible is what helped her for both knees. Listen to your physio.

Absolutely. You can actually do what you want! I had a custom spreadsheet with just the last 30 days in the first tab.

@Amanda and a Loudogg already did it for Loudogg

As one who tends to comment on dosing, I personally prefer to see the year's worth of data at once, and hate switching tabs and losing the context. But that's just me...

Bella wanted to cheer you up by earning a reducie! I think he might have got a little carried away though.
Glad you got your knee surgery scheduled, hope it all goes smooth. I’m sure Bella will take care of you during your recovery.
Hope the water heater pulls through. We just had a major water leak in our slab fixed after two weeks of almost no water and now we’ve been told our A/C is terminal.
