Good appetite this morning. He peed last night but no more poop yet. Hoping for another bowel movement today.
I slept in my bed last night, no more living room couch. He's pretty much back to his normal self and is navigating the house fairly well with his cone.

Thomas is doing well, other than not pooping today anyway, otherwise really good. Hidee however has been refusing to eat nearly all the food I've given her. I don't know if it's because Thomas has been laying up in the chairs under the table where she eats or some other reason. He hasn't even been eating her food, just laying in her spot. She's getting some hair balls too, decided to give her a probiotic. Managed to get her to eat a few bites of her food at least. Anyone know anything that helps with hairballs?

Love the pics!

Cat sunscreen seems like it'd be tough, they'd just lick off anything topical. What about working on the other end, screening out UV light from his sunbathing windows? I think you can do it with some clear films, so he'd still get light and warmth but (hopefully) not the bad stuff...

Yes, I've been looking into some window tints also. Figured I'd cover both ends by using sunscreen as well.
 
I used to put sunscreen on a couple of my cats years ago .. like 25 years ago... but I can’t remember what it was. It must have been human sunscreen though. Both cats had had cancers on their ears/ noses.
I think trying to find something for the windows is a good idea but you need to make sure it filters out the correct UV rays.

Oh, I didn't know there were different kinds of UV rays. Which ones do I need to block out?

I looked it up, seems like UVB is linked to skin cancer and UVA can as well. I'm not sure if window tints will tell me which UV rays it blocks but I'll look.

UVA and UVB rays are dangerous. There are UVC rays but people are exposed to them in some occupations. I am pretty sure UVB rays are mostly blocked by windows.

I have double paned windows so it's difficult to find tints that are safe for them that I don't have to have professionally installed. I'll keep looking.

There is not a sunscreen that is safe for cats on the market. There are a few for dogs but cats are sensitive to many of the ingredients in pet sunscreens as well as human sunscreens, even baby sunscreensThere is not a sunscreen that is safe for cats on the market. There are quite a few for dogs but cats are sensitive to many of the ingredients in pet sunscreens as well as human sunscreens, even baby sunscreens, including zinc. I have read that the mineral titanium dioxide is not toxic but unfortunately the sunscreen products it is in also have zinc and the other toxic things in them. As you know, white cats especially their ears have no pigment in them and are very susceptible to developing skin cancer. If Thomas is indoors only and you have double paned windows, the risk is much less but one thing you could do is to put tinted window film on the windows he suns himself in. I have double paned windows and used this brand from Home Depot but also available online: https://artscape-inc.com/

Yes, putting up window tints is my plan but I'm trying to find some that are safe for double pane windows. I live with my brother so if his windows break he won't be very happy.
