That is awesome Carla!!! Congrats on the 6 month checkup! Sorry about the ear infection though. Hope it gets better soon!

Yay for a good vetty report :cat: but geez she can't get a break with her ear can she. It is just one isn't it? I wonder if it's worth getting a second opinion on how to treat it?

Sorry about her ear! Is there any chance that there's something else going on? I had a foster cat with chronic ear infections and after treating her on an off for a year and half, they finally realized that she had polyps. And (anti-jinxes) she hasn't had any more issues since they removed the polyp.

Glad to hear she had a good vetty report and sorry her little ear is infected again. Sending vines and prayers she gets better soon!

Glad to hear her wellness check was good. When they have a spike like that from stress after OTJ, does it make your heart stop??

Sorry about the ear infection again. Gosh, she really has a time of it, doesn't she? Doesn't the ear infection affect her BG's too?

It is just one isn't it?
It's just one ear.
Is there any chance that there's something else going on?
She had a polyp in the past, but then it disappeared. It my have come back, but if it did it has to be really small. The vet did mention if this keeps happening, they may need to see if it's back and try and remove it.
How is that treated.....antibiotic drops?
Yes, it's AB drops. She's on Baytril Otic. In the past this has not raised her BG.
When they have a spike like that from stress after OTJ, does it make your heart stop??
I was expecting a higher number because she hates going to the vet and it's not that high. It didn't bother me since she brought herself back down. If she had stayed high, I would have been concerned. So far the infection has not raised her BG.

Thanks everyone for the prayers and good wishes for her ear.

I'm glad to hear that your vet is on to it in that they aren't just going to prescribe ABs over and over but not look any further.

I had a bean friend with an ongoing ear problem that his doc just kept prescribing ABs for - for years. Then he went and saw a doctor in Thailand while he was there one time and they did something that finally fixed it. In the meantime he lost a lot of his hearing from that ear though

Nice vet visit. Bad on the ear. Smokey has chronic yeast in one. I think it's pretty packed down in there, it just doesn't want to clear up. The other cleared and the civvie did. This one just won't.

Too bad about the ear infection, but yay for the rest of the exam being good!! Healing vines for her sweet little ear...

Hi Carla, Furball is looking good. I'm so glad that--with the exception of that ear thing--she had a good vetty visit. Healing vines for you, Furball. Also glad to hear that Baby is doing well. Even Rusty's sneezing has calmed down a bit!

Big series coming up on Monday. Are you ready? I'll be wearing my Mets cap and you'll have your Reds cap on. May the best team win!!

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty
