Ti-Mousse has done six cycles on this reduced 4.75 dose and I was planning to increase this morning but I have to leave for some time today; last time he was on 5u it took him down to 31, so I wan't to be home to monitor closely!

Hope all our kitties are safe today!

Given where Ti-Mousse’s nadirs have been on this dose, and that he only saw one day of green on 5.0 units, I would go with a 0.25 unit increase. And do it when you know you can be around to monitor when the depot is full.

Questions please:
- First, Biscuits (Mollycat) is HI all the time with 10 units; I don't know if you would have time for him maybe? I saw his SS this morning!
(Sorry, but don't bother with Biscuits, she just told me she had an expert helping her....)

For Ti-Mousse, it's not urgent!!
- How do you know the depot is full? Is it six cycles, or does it depend on numbers?
- If I take a +1 or +2 and it's lower that PS, does it mean I have to stay around and test? Since his 31, I'm always worried to leave!

Thanks my dear mentor !!

Yes, I have popped in to see Biscuits before. And I'm not the only one with eyes on him.

The depot can be considered to be full after six cycles.

The +2 rule works for Lantus, may or may not work for Levemir. Actually, the +2 "guideline" didn't work for Neko when she was on Lantus either. One of those ECID things, though it does work for the majority of Lantus kitties. Basically if kitty is flat or going down between preshot and before onset, then you are likely to have an active cycle. Homework time, do you know when Ti-Mousse's onset is on Levemir? Typical time is +4, but is your kitty typical? It can also be earlier or later. Neko was always fashionably late (+5). I know some people did use the +2 test with Levemir. If there was no food bump after preshot, it could be a sign of an active cycle. For me, if Neko was going down from +9 to PS, there was a chance of an active cycle. You have to learn what works to signal your cat will see action.

Thank you for all this.:bighug: At least now I have an idea of his onset, food spike and AM nadir; I also noticed when he goes Green or Lime it's on the 7th cycle! I might get to know his pattern one day, if he doesn't decide to change !
