    Yesterday

Squallie seems to be having another good day. He was very playful yesterday evening; I thought maybe we were going to have a visit from the IMs, but I guess he's not quite yet ready to battle the horde!

I talked with the vet yesterday and we agreed that he no longer needs the cisapride, since he's been having diarrhea, and he will go to every three days with the piroxicam, instead of every two.

I stood my ground last night and wouldn't give him his dry food until he finally gave in and ate the teaspoon of wet food that had his usual meds in it; I was very proud of both of us, lol! :cat::) Trying the same tactic now for brekkies, he did eat about half, hoping he'll come back for the rest.

If anybody got the chance to look over his US report on yesterday's condo and you have any input, I'd love to hear it, good or bad. Thanks!

Prayers that all our beloved kitties stay safe today. ❤️

I'm glad Squallie is having a good day. Good job on holding out until he ate some wet food. Sending prayers.

Good morning , Squallie and Lucy :bighug: I have a feeling that the IMs are soon to be foolish enough to make an appearance and King Squallie will be more than happy to provide a smack down :) I am not skilled at reading such reports but my general gist is that it’s not definitive ...I think that is great news :bighug: Rock on , Super Senior Squallie Bear ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

    Thanks, Beth! :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
I don't know much about reading those types of reports (although I read many of the when my husband was battling cancer) either, but it just seems to me to be very non-definitive. Maybe just wishful thinking, on my part. Glad to know you got the same impression I did!

Squallie sends you and Elmo lots of purrs and head bonks! :cat: ❤️ :cat:

    Hi Lucy
I can't find Squallie's ultrasound from yesterday - I see only the labs (and they look good) plus the biopsy report
I'm so happy that Squallie is feeling good - I know you hate the dry food, but it is packed with calories and probably letting him gain weight

I have read it several times and the only thing that I can really say is that whatever it is appears to be solid and there was not a large enough sample for the pathology to determine if it is cancer or not, which you already knew. I have to wonder if it's perhaps a cyst or something that got stuck there in Squallie's colon and has caused a lot of inflammation there. It appears to be something rare based on the phrase in it "mesenteric lesion". But since Squallie has held his own and improved since the ultrasound, I would still have my doubts that it is a type of cancer.

The biopsy report is from the US; that's all they sent me. I was expecting more, especially as the specialist said his colon wall looked compromised; I thought her visual findings would also be included. I guessed wrong. I don't mean to rant, but I'm starting to get a little annoyed with all these specialists. Seems like I pay out some mighty large bills and get very little in return! I mean, I don't expect my cat to still be pawing at a bone/tooth fragment (which is highly visible and which the dentist tells me is impossible!) two months after a 4K $ dental with $250 worth of follow-up!

Whew, sorry! But I feel a little bit better now. ;)

I hope that fragment can work its way out. Stupid dentist! :banghead::banghead:

But Squallie is still hanging in there! :)

:D So glad he is having good days. :bighug:

I don't have any input on the U/S. Sorry. Did you ever see if the IM would do a phone consult?

Oh brother, Lucy - I can understand how you feel. As an example, this is the ultrasound I got back from Murphy's last one - it should be detailed as to what they found You absolutely should get a copy of the findings
