Yesterday's beautiful blues post

Ivana's brand-spanking-new automatic feeder arrived yesterday! Now, what's the best way to use it? I'm guessing we should use it every day so she's used to it for the days we go out. So I'll put her breakfast in it as usual, then set it for around nadir time for the next feed. And then we can just change the food that's in there depending on her +2 results, ie. low carb or high carb. Is that the best way?

How many slots does the feeder have? I feed Neko's main meal in a regular dish, and subsequent meals go in the autofeeder, but that's because that's what works best with the number of meals I feed. And she gets raw food so I don't want to leave it too long in the feeder, even with an ice pack.

The way you've described for using the feeder sounds like what most people do. Some have cats that like to dive at some point in the cycle, so they might put a little food in for them then if they will be away. I try to use the feeder to mimic what I would do if I was home. But then, Neko is very keen on tradition when it comes to her food.

It has four sections. At the moment, Ivana gets fed breakfast and dinner, but doesn't eat it all in one go - it takes her a couple of hours to finish each meal. I guess it will take some training on both our parts!

We always fed punkin's meal at shot time on a regular plate, then his +3 mini-meal in the timed feeder, both am/pm cycles. If I was going to be gone, then we'd add in more times for it to open.

IT's one of those things that you might want to try it one way for a while, decide if it's helpful, and if not, then try something different.

I think getting her used to the feeder is a good idea. She is a pretty quick learner if the bsl and treats are anything to go by. Trial and error will find which works best I think too.
I'm glad you have one.

It took me a while to figure out how it goes together, but I think I've got it. We will see if it works at 3pm when I set it. I even recorded my voice saying "Ivana, dinner time!" when it opens up a new compartment, although if she's asleep I doubt she'll hear it. Yes she is a quick learner, although like kids, I guess we're biased and we all think that of our fur-babies haha.
