Yesterday turned out to be a good day, I thought he might need the shot soon (had the three day shot Friday) but he ended up eating fine and didn't seem mean. I forgot the cerenia though :facepalm:. But that ended up working out since I wont be home tomorrow night. I just started him at 8am this morning, so he will have an AM schedule now. I asked Dr. McCue about bloodwork and said we can wait two weeks. He also wants the IGF1 test, but from what I've read on here the number doesn't seem worth the money, although I am very curious. If I am remembering his first test correctly was it $300? That is what I initially thought but now I am thinking it might have been less. Shmee is still acting ok and eating today. Hasn't been in the greatest of moods, but still ok. I really miss my old cat. He used to be way more lovey, clingy, and would sleep with me at night. He doesn't anymore... I hope he comes back. I have a new Disney client and getting ready to spend all day with my cousin tomorrow taking photos for her wedding, so I probably will not be able to do another thread until Sunday.

All of your support through this time has been overwhelming. Thank you.
This experience gives me an even greater appreciation for so many of you. I know so many deal with so many health issues... I don't know how some of you do it. But then again I do, because I know how much we all love our kitties. That is a good feeling. Have a nice Friday and weekend everyone.

I have attached some photos from the last week. Him waiting for the birds to come to the window sill, and I tried to get close ups of face/scar. The goop is his healing medicine I use every once in a while, that I had from pricking his ears.

I also forgot to mention that we got Shmee's new autofeeder today and I am trying it out tonight. I cant remember if I said before or now that I called and they sent me a free one! Apparently it had a one year warranty so that was good. He usually has his last meal at 930pm, so I am hoping if he gets some food in him later at night then maybe we can "get his pancreas going" and reduce his morning BGs a little. I feel like @Wendy&Neko would use better wording LOL but I am going to try it out. Tonight I sent 1/4 can for 930pm and 1/4 can for 1230am.

Shmee looks good. Here's a thought, could he have been clingy before because he was sick?
I never thought of it like that, I dont think so but you never know. He was always just a really lovey cat. He's a lot like me, I just always wanted to be by him and cuddle him. Every night as soon as I went in my bed he got under the covers and was my "little spoon" :( and always used to be laying on us or in our laps.... not so much anymore

I honestly think it’s just from the trauma of being at the hospital and having surgery and all the meds being given. Plus as we’ve talked about before with the hormone changes... I think he WILL get back to normal after some time passes. Eventually he will eat all his meds in his food, his hormones will be in the normal range, and I think he will slowly get back to normal. Poor guy has been through so much! I bet I would be really cranky too if I had that surgery :bighug:

Love the pics with his Lion Friend. Glad to hear he is doing well. He looks pretty good for a major surgery patient.

Also glad to hear you have a Disney client. Sounds like all is well on your home front.

I hope Shmee returns to his old self. Leo wasn't so much changed directly after SRT. But his whole diabetes and lymphoma situation basically means he lives in the kitchen now. So we make him a special bed there, and he seems to like it. Just saying, sometimes the kitteh may change a little. In our case we adapted to Leo, so that all of us can enjoy our time together.

I like the pics of Shmee, looks like his fur is starting to grow back in. :) Cute little tabby stripe on his face too.

Feeding before testing is to kick start his pancreas. It might have gotten a little lazy while he was on insulin. Still a lovely PMBG for his 22nd day without insulin. :D

Shmee is looking lovely. We too, are worrying about Titans character. He is less affectionate, in fact he is less enthusiastic about everything and slower to react to any stimulus . We wonder if it might be thyroid related but we are waiting til next Friday for a T4 test. Gemma our local vet talked to Camilla the RVC vet, about character changes. Camilla said it can take a long time to normalise, maybe up to a year for an older cat. Hope it doesn't take that long .

Wow that is a long time. I haven't heard of a year but from what I am learning it can take quite a while to get those hormones balanced. :blackeye:

Thank you Jeff and you make a good point, no matter what happens we will adjust. Keep the good things in mind like I'm sure you do with Leo - what a journey you guys have been on and how well he has done.
