Trix looks to be feeling pretty good today...I don't think she's back to 100%, but she's definitely WAY better that a few days ago, and probably better than yesterday as well. Her appy is pretty good...it waivers between "OK" and "happy", so all things considered, not bad at all. I'm still supplementing with some syringe feedings, just be sure does get the calories and nutrition she needs. Fortunately she does not object to assist-feeding all that much.
Interestingly, another trick that she seems to like is if I squirt a little bit of the pureed syringe fuds on top of her non-pureed fuds. I guess it's like a custom-gravy to her or something? BUT, she won't eat the pureed food straight up off a plate - the pureed stuff either has to go in via syringe, or on top of non-pureed fuds. Funny girl.
And I know the rest of the world would think we're crazy for analyzing what food textures our kitties are more willing to eat! I guess that's also why cats like our L&LL kitties thrive despite having health issues, while other kitties whose beans aren't so attentive fail
.
Anyway, it is great to see Trix's bright eyes again. She went through her usual morning routine, which is good to see. She is feeling pretty spunky - she was looking for adventure a bit this morning, and she was waiting outside the laundry room door as I prepped her second breffis. But, I do think she has a slight aversion to her fuds resulting from this past weekend...not a bad one, but a slight one. We're also kind of stuck at this point, though...Fancy Feast and Purina One aren't good for her kidneys, but the are the only fuds she would REALLY eat before all the crap hit last weekend. I'm afraid any other foods she'd willingly eat would just be way too high in carbs for her, and having to add insulin back into the mix at this point would probably send me over the edge. I'm sure she'd be thrilled if I put a bowl of kibbles in front of her...but obviously we can't go down that road.
It is time for another round of fuds....I have to work today, so I need to maximize what she eats between now and 10:00 without overdoing.
We had a bit of a fiasco with trying to get the B12 going in her SubQs last night...if anyone who hasn't taken a look has any idea, check out yesterday's condo. It's no biggie...just looking for suggestions that would work with the IV set up we have.
Thank you for all the support and prayers, my L&LL family. Once again, you carried us through...have a great day, everyone!

Good luck with the fuds thing too. That one is tough... went through that with Mannie when he got sick. The only thing he would eat were the gravy foods. That made it tough. We dealt with the textures ting too.
