Trix is feeling good again today! We have a happy appy and snuggly kitty and a "hole in one" gelcap. No Happy Pee/Crap dashes to report, but this morning she was so anxious for breffis that she had no patience for her pre-fuds pokey test...I had to test her after she ate. She's had several very good rounds of breffis since then. She still needs MamaBean to hold the plate most of the time...it such a programmed behavior at this point that I don't know if that will ever change. I would love to see her eat a little more without me holding the plate, but naturally I'll do whatever her little heart desires!

She is now lounging by the heating vent. What a life! Last night she had some moments of seeming a little blah, too...but it could just be a temporary mood, or it could be she still healing up from whatever she had last week, or it's all the ABs having somewhat of an affect on her. The good thing is these blahs don't stick around for long.

It does some that she is tolerating two ABs at the same time pretty well. She has 8 more days of the Zeniquin, which is what we started on her right away last weekend whenever this "thing" (most likely p-titis) hit, and it seems to have made a big difference for her. And she's got a long haul of over 3 weeks left on the banana-juice amoxicillin. She's not thrilled with that one, but she takes it like a champ. That one is for her enterococcus. She doesn't mind the probiotic in her fuds at all...phew!

Thank you for the cranberry treat ideas yesterday! The treat is too big to put into her gelcaps...good idea, though!! Sort of has me thinking.

I think if I alter its constitution and try to add it to her food, she wouldn't like it. It's too bad...she really was interested in the flavor of it and it would have been so easy, but the texture was a big no-go.

I'm going to look into some of the ideas from her condo yesterday, plus Ann gave me some good links last week to investigate as well.

The weather was dreadful yesterday...very rainy and right on the edge of freezing temps, so the roads were a mess. That type of weather really takes a toll on me; much like hot weather affects people with fatigue, that is what cold weather does to me...my body just can't tolerate it any more. I just couldn't get warm no matter what, and that exhausts me. So I crashed hard after work, then again after dinner.

I'm sorry I missed condos...I was thinking of everyone, but I just wasn't functioning! But I'm off today, and in between chores and petting kitties, I will catch up with everyone.

Have a great day, L&LL!

Amy

Morning Amy :coffee::coffee::coffee:

What a great WCR! and a good start for Trixie today too. I see green!:D You surf well today Trixie. :) Good luck with the cranberry. I hope you can find a way to get it into her.

Bummer on that weather. I hope that improves too.

Have a great day Amy. Enjoy your day off.

:D :D :D! That's what we like to see. Great WCR, so nice to see. Sending you some hot house vines, Amy. Hope the weather is better today.

Always glad to read a good Trixie report. Good luck figuring out the cranberry. You are very resourceful, so I know you'll get it handled.

I'll try sending some of our weather your way. It's very springlike here.

Another good news Trixie condo, and that visit from Mr. Greenio is pretty cool too.:D

Let us know what you find on the D-mannose/cranberry - I'm always up for trying something different with Theo, though he does like the treats. I know what you mean about the texture. I was very surprised when he ate them.

Yes! Wonderful report. You go, Trixie. So nice to see the medicine go down so well.

I'll start shushing our weather your way. Cool overnights, but lovely high 40s - low 60s during the day. I don't even know where my jacket is.

I was expecting a slightly lower PMBG, but that's OK...'cause guess who was the last kitty eating after the first round of dinner tonight :joyful:? Got some good pre-dinner snuggles, too. The night is young...we still have fluids (she actually seems to enjoy fluids these days), gelcap (we're on a good roll...anti-jinx), and banana meds (Trix says "blech" but MamaBean is happy thay they still down fairly easily) to go, but we'll take each victory as they come.

Great WCR today! Have you considered grinding the treats up in a blender or spice grinder? Then sprinkle on the food? If you want to try the Drs F&S CranHealth tablets, I have extra you can try instead of ordering a whole bottle and they aren't really fast w/ the delivery. PM me your address.

I haven't tried grinding up the treats, but I know last spring when I was trying any sort of trick to get her to eat, I attempted grinding up forbidden kibble and sprinkling that on her food...she was not pleased ....I took two of her favorite things and turned them into a monstrosity !!

Thank you, Ann...I'll send you a PM!

BTW, wonderfully happy appy so far this evening!

Maybe Trixie would eat a real cranberry?? You could squash it and put it in a pill pocket???
Sounds like a good day in your household, Amy. Here's hoping for a good night, too.

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Trix still has a Pill Pocket aversion, which she developed with the really bad bout with p-titis last spring. She used to be super-duper easy when it came to anything edible, but now she's quite a challenge sometimes!

I'm going back to my original thoughts for the cranberry - vodka! Are you free tonight Trixie - lets hit the bars!
