Yesterday's Condo

:D Cinco is being very noisy about the fact that he is in the lagoon. I told him it barely counts - he's not that wet yet! :joyful: I was hoping he'd take advantage of Harvey's absence and move around the house more, but I don't think he's realized it yet. He's still got at least 24 hours, so maybe I'll get him moving soon.

I was awakened at 8:04 am by a call from the student on Harvey's case. He wanted to let me know Harvey was scheduled for his surgery this afternoon around 2 or 3. He also said Harvey had not eaten since he'd been there, so I said I would bring some food this afternoon so he will eat tonight. I would like to see the cages they keep them in - he said he was sitting in the cage with Harvey and Harv was walking around and purring. I remember when Sasha had her leg amputated the student used to sit in there with her and write her notes. They must be pretty good sized. That's good for Harvey since he does not like to be contained and needs to move around, like a shark.

I had just fallen back to sleep when the surgeon called. They had an opening first thing and they were prepping Harvey for surgery as we spoke. She went over what they planned to do, what they might add on if he was doing well, and what all the scarey risks were. She said she and the IM would call when he's out of surgery. I didn't go back to sleep after that. :nailbiting::nailbiting::nailbiting:

Minka did not want either the low phos food I offered or the FF, so I waited an hour after her pepcid/ond gelcap and tried again. She ate a little of the FF, but not much, so I gave her some Mirtz. That little stinker just doesn't want anything but FF! I had three cans and two pouches open last night and the only thing she would eat was the FF. Luckily, Sasha is picking up the slack with the fuds that are higher in carbs, and Cinco is getting the ones that are lower.

On the up side, my hand started feeling better sometime yesterday. Still painful, but sooooo much better that I can type again without wanting to scream. :) Don't know if it's the meds, shot or warmer weather (or some combo of those), but I'll take it! I may even slip outside and do a little gardening before I go take foods for Harvey. No weed pulling, but maybe some pruning. Don't want to push it.

Sound like there are a lot of kitties that have been to the vetty today. Vines to all of them, especially those awaiting tests results. We share your stress and pray for good news.

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans. :bighug: Prayers continue for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF & DH, Lisa's DF and especially Elise's DM.

Paws crossed that all goes wel w/ Harvey. I know how you feel when someone is missing. I'm glad that they got him in early so that he can come home sooner.

Yay for your hands feeling better. It's warm here too, I need to go out and water trees.

Yo Cinco, put the other foot in and enjoy a surf!

Tricia, I hope all will go well with Harvey's surgery. We are sending him some very handsome vines.

Good news about your hand. Don't overdo!!!

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Rusty thanks you for the vines.

Go, Cinco!

The surgeon just called about Harvey. All went well. They got all the samples they wanted, laparoscopically, including the liver and pancreas. As they were cleaning him up afterward, she noticed a hard spot in the fat pad near his groin, and she decided to go back and get a sample of it. I'm glad she did - as long as he was out, cover all the bases. She'll be calling back tonight once he's fully awake. So some relief that he came through the procedure okay, but now the waiting for results begins. More :nailbiting::nailbiting::nailbiting:

I'm glad things went well with Harvey's procedure. I hope you get good test results back. I hope Minka's appy got better. Go Cinco. I hope he keeps surfing. :D

Hugs to you, Tricia. I can't imagine how stressed out you must be right now. I'm so glad the procedure went well...and I'm sending out lots of vines for Harvey and the entire crew. When will you get all of the results back? The waiting game is one of the toughest parts (especially if you have no patience, which I don't).

Woohoo on the greens, Cinco! :D

:bighug::bighug:

Good to hear Harvey's out of surgery and doing well...now comes the hard part..waiting for the results!

Looks like Cinco's being a very good boy today....so is China!!...wait a minute...what are they up to???

Happy to hear that your hand is at least a little better today Tricia!...you're right, it could be any of those things, but when you're in pain, it doesn't matter what makes it better! It just matters that it IS better!

Sending good appy vines for Minka and good vetty results vines for Harvey!

When do you get to bring Harvey home? The waiting is so hard but will be a little easier when he comes home. Thanks for visiting me today with all that you have going on now.

pilin on the vines for good test results for Harv.

Sounds like you have your hands full with those kids of yours! Please let us know when you have some results....

And wondering if Cinco might shout for Skooter to come join him? It would be nice to see Skoots come down...

Another stressful day for you.

Tons of vines for Harvey and the results. I had to wait a week for Neko's biopsy too. :nailbiting:

Lovely surf by Mr. Cinco - just a little something to try to lift you up. :D

I'm glad all went well for Harvey today. Sending tons of speedy recovery vines, and tons and tons and tons of prayers that all the biopsies come back clean. Add on to that many appy vines for Minka. Looking good today, Cinco!!! I hope he surfed it safely once he hit the lagoon.

Thanks for visiting us and for all the vines, prayers and well-wishes, Elise, Carla, Shelly, Chris, Liz, Molly, Wendy, Ann and Amy.

Cinco started out well tonight, but he seems to be coming down more slowly than he did this morning. I guess I'm greedy, wanting green in both cycles. So sue me! :joyful:

The surgeon was not available when I stopped at UCD to drop off the food - she'd just been called in to do an emergency surgery. I said a quick prayer for someone's baby, thinking of all the losses LL has suffered today - we're up to three now. Prayers and vines to Tonya at the loss of Tiki. A cat mom's worst nightmare - coming home to find her baby gone. :(

The surgery student on Harvey's case called this evening to say he's awake and purring, but still not eating. Apparently the surgeon had not had the chance to tell her that I'd dropped off food, so she said she'd go get it from reception as soon as we hung up and see if he would eat that. Otherwise, she said he was doing well. Unless there are unexpected complications, I should be able to bring him home tomorrow afternoon. I sure do miss him!

I'm so sad for all our losses today, and humbly grateful that I have my four babies, even though one is in the hospital - I know he's coming home to me. Let's all hug our kitties a little extra tonight and think of Tonya, Jen, and Suzanne, Matt & Matty, who wish they could do the same.
