Good morning!
AMPS 77 shooting .25F :D:D:D:):):)

Boomer ate all of his foods last night all by himself. Such a good boy! He did do some "singing" after one of the meals but it was out in the living room area and I know food-related "singing" happens at the bedroom door.

ETA: after my rant yesterday about not being able to find foods that both Boomer and Allen (assuming he is early CKD) can eat, @Wendy&Neko wonderfully provided me with a list of foods with low phosphorous and carbs under 10% :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:. Generally speaking the boys are fed separately but if we get to go away again it is necessary to have some food that both can eat. So today or tomorrow there will be a trip to the local pet store to get yet 2 or 3 more foods around 3 or 4% that Boomer can eat that Allen can eat too.

Yesterday's early morning walk looking for Eagles was "somewhat" successful.....I did see one flying over the park once I was back in my car. And during my walk I saw something very high up in a tree and there were several trees between me and it with no way of getting closer. I took a couple of shots and when I looked at them later I believe it may have been the eagle.

Today on this Bean's to-do list.......well I'm still doing all kinds of prop-making for my newborn sessions. In the last few days I've made a bunch of newborn crowns using lace, and some tie-backs for the wee girls' heads. I've had the supplies to make a newborn tutu for about 2 years now but keep buying the tutus instead because I haven't had time to make it. So that's on the agenda today. DH has lunch with a friend on Tuesdays and once he gets home we're taking some of my photo cards, prints, and 2 canvases to a new store downtown. I've had the prints/cards in a store for the last 6 months and I did ok with sales but the store owner was very unorganized and I had to ask several times each month for my payout and she never could let me know what had been sold (so I never knew whether/what I should be replacing). It got to be too frustrating so I pulled out. Hopefully this new one will be better!

I have a picture for you today.....it's one I took two weekends ago when we went for a drive to Long Point on Lake Erie. I called it "Footprints towards the Lake".

Nice start Boomer and too cute on this singing:joyful: Good luck with the new store, you do beautiful work. Booms, keep mama bean company while she makes tutu's and such for the little noisy humans that come to visit from time to time ;) Have a good day Judy.

:D:D:D I'm glad Boomer ate by himself last night. I hope both kitties like the new food. Hopefully the new store works out. I like the picture. That's an interesting perspective.

Went for a visit to the neighbourhood pet store. Frustrating! They only had some of the food on my list of foods that are ok for both Boomer and Allen. And the others.....every single one was called something different than what was on my list. sigh. Nothing is easy. All I need are two or three foods that both cats can eat for when we are away and they have to eat together.
So I'll have to contact Weruva.

ETA: well this is a pleasant surprise, the Weruva website actually has calories from carbs showing instead of dry mater or as-fed!

The frustrating thing is indeed finding the foods that are safe for both. I didn't have much luck with that either. The Weruva website is pretty good, they have the nutrional breakdowns and As-Fed values for their cat foods.

Way to keep it green Boomer. :D

@Wendy&Neko I was so impressed; they have the calories from carbs calculated on the website! Yahoo! I've checked out the website and I now have a list of 5 foods that both my boys can eat. So the four foods that the pet store just sold me are going back to them as they're all way too high in carbs and hopefully they have some of the 5 acceptable ones.

The other thing you have to check with the Weruva fuds is the calories. Some of them are pretty low and you have to feed more cans to maintain the weight - something you have to keep an eye on with CKD kitties.

Thanks Wendy; I'll watch for that. And it might be better for Boomer since I'm trying to cut back his calories a bit since he's gaining weight.
Which reminds me, I should start weighing Allen on a regular basis just like I do Boomer. DH and I couldn't even agree whether Allen had lost weight.....I thought he had but I'm more used to picking Boomer up and Boomer is heavier than Allen. And DH didn't think Allen had lost weight but I think DH had put blinders on so he didn't have to face the fact that his kitty was sick.

Yo Deputy Boomer, good for you to keep your mamabean on her toes! Nice work in the lagoon today.

Hi Judy, I'm glad you finally arrived at the right foods for both kitties. Good luck! Weruva is too low in calories for Rusty to eat as a meal (he never eats that much of anything, so I have to get the high-calorie, low carb fuds, like Wellness chicken or turkey). But he likes Weruva Paw Lickin' chicken and has some as a bedtime treat every night. I have to cut up the shreds because he only has 5 teeth.

Great pic of the human footprints (I was expecting to see animal tracks!). Neat to see the Bald Eagle.

Judy i found a lot of Weruva at the Global Pet Foods... is there one near you??? if not i try to ask Petland to order some in for me and they are trying... Benson and now Tommy are both CKD according to the vet so i understand the want to not feed a bunch of different kinds of food... Boomer what is up with that one blue?? gotta throw mama bean a monkey wrench??? love the picture... you have a great eye :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Yes that's where I was. But the foods on my list and the foods in the store didn't match so I was lost. But I checked out Weruva's website when I got home and they actually had calories from carbs and phosphorous on their site so I have a list of 6 foods that aren't fish that meet both Boomer's and Allen's needs. To make it even worse, it appears that Boomer needs carbs between 3 and 5% to stay in good numbers. So 5 of the above mentioned 6 fall into that range. sigh. And this isn't even Allen's main health problem....or at least we don't know yet.

Prayers for Allen tomorrow... sucks that you finally got him eating and now they want him fasting grrr... we will figure out the foods... i will help if you need it ... lol i use my dad to get the seniors discount at Petland and Global Pet Foods... last thursday and tuesday of the month
