January 25, 2019 Condo - Extended shark hunting, reduction, and more time at the lagoon...

Good morning all!
Well Lou had quite an interesting day yesterday. Not only did he head to the lagoon, he spent 3 hours shark hunting. :nailbiting: I was at work, so I knew about the initial lime, but not that he spent hours there. So Lou's back down to 4.0u as of last night. Surprisingly, he surfed all night instead of bouncing. While he's not eating so far this morning like he's going to bounce, I'm expecting it to hit at any time, especially considering how long he was in those lime BGs.

On the negative side, I gave a partial furshot this morning. I'm still surprised that he has these patches of scar tissue, but more how unpenetrable they are. I vary where I give the shots, so it's surprising he has enough spots (or do I literally keep finding the same one?!) after less than 2 years on insulin. It's slightly worrisome, but not a major problem. You'd think it'll be awhile until he has no insulin spots available. :p I've officially learned my lesson today about not trying to shoot into that scar tissue. I think I just didn't want to poke him again. But the 2 times I've tried now has resulted in a partial furshot, so enough is enough for this momma bean. I know he got most of his insulin into him though, so that's reassuring.

I hope you all have a wonderful day and your kitties surf safely! There's no need for shark hunting because Lou's inspected them all thoroughly! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Interesting about the scar tissue. I shot Rusty in the scruff for 8 years and never felt any scar tissue. Where do you inject?

Hoping Lou has a good day today and surfs safe!

I go anywhere from the scruff to down his back on either side of his spine. Sometimes I even do his sides if he lays the right way. The weird spot is more around his shoulder blade on the left side. The needle won't go in all the way - it goes in a fraction and then stops. I figured it's scar tissue, but it does seem a bit soon for that. Maybe it's something like muscle, although Lou doesn't act like it affects him. Gosh I hope it's not something like that. I'd feel awful!

Nice greens last night. I hope Lou will keeps surfing on the new dose. Furball has one place of scar tissue on her side. If I hit it when I insert the syringe, I know to pull it back out and shoot somewhere else.

Nice Bg last night! Good job Lou! :D
