We are so very saddened by sweet Calley's crossing. Kris was an amazing bean to her sweet girl...such a sad week for them.

Another slightly lower start for Trix this morning...maybe she heard my request for this being a new trend! All the usuals...happy appy, snuggly, and feisty...with a heavy emphasis on "feisty" today. It was inevitable...our gelcap luck ran out this morning. We had hisses. We had swats. We had growls. We had wild eyes. We had "Get AWAY from me, Mama!!!" We had repacks. We had lots of breaks to regroup. We had a stressed out MamaBean who desperately wanted a BTB but couldn't take it because of the gelcap delays. We had it all....it finally went down almost 45 minutes late. I've said it before: I hate those stupid pills and would give my right arm to do these meds in an injection!

But we'll get past it. Fortunately mornings like this are few and far between these days, but when they hit, it really throws me for a loop.

Last night, she was extra-extra snuggly. She actually slept on my legs on the couch for well over an hour. I think this is an absolute first! She always snuggles when I'm at the computer....it's usually intense-but-short...she's all lovey-rubby-dubby, but she doesn't settle in. The last week or so, she started visiting while I was on the couch...just for a minute or so. But last night, she decided to stay! Zen joined her, too, so I was very pinned down with nice warm kitty bodies.Civvie Petey has been doing the same thing, and although saying he loves attention is an understatement, he's never been that kind of lap cat, either. I wonder what has gotten into them?

Being back at work yesterday...well, no other/polite way to put it...it sucked. I am fortunate to be in a business that I enjoy, but I am VERY burnt out on my partnership. I'm desperate to be on my own...we have another 13 months on our lease, though. It's going to be tough.

Anyway...time to get moving. Have a great day, LL!

Amy

Mid blue AMPS. Trixie, you scamp. Way to start the year.

Sorry about the gel caps. I guess she just doesn't want you to get too complacent!

Lap cats is good! None here. But if I keep the thermostat at just-barely-survivable levels, I do find a crowd on the bed!

One more year, Amy. One more year. You can do it.

Marilyn and Polly

I think heat might be the reason for the super cuddly behavior. Don't your cats get on the counter when the dishwasher runs? :joyful: Sorry about the gelcap...
Liz

Hi Amy and Trixie! Ya think maybe she is higher in the am cause she knows the gel caps are comin? I know my kitties get stressed if they are getting meds, right before they get them..just cuz they know its comin. Bravo to you for being such a patient momma bean. And..if the next year flys by like the last one did, you will be done with that lease before you know it! :joyful:

Congrats on winning the gel cap war. Sometime they just need to stand up for the kitteh right to be feisty! Hang in there, time will fly if you keep busy. And you are certainly a busy lady!

Hi Amy,
Is it cold down there? Maybe the lap-top kitties want to help you stay warm:). Bummer on the gelcap. Do you wrap it in butter? Some cats really like butter (Stu couldn't stay away from it; if we left it on the table it would have a big "lick" down the middle!)

This year will fly by and then you'll only have 1 month on the lease.

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

So sorry about the great gelcap battle. I can definitely relate. It always leaves all participants/combatants upset here, too. :blackeye: Luckily, it doesn't seem to happy often, so I'm sure you'll both get past it quickly.

I, too, think the weather has something to do with the extra snuggles. Body heat is the best this time of year, especially when one or more of the bodies is furry! :cat:

I think the year will go by faster than you expect, with so much going on in your life. Look how quickly this last one went! I'm still writing 2013 on things! :joyful:

Aw, and I was thinking they were being so snuggly because they LOVE me :(o_O:)! Actually, I'm sure I appreciate the heat as much as they do! The do sleep on top of the dishwasher, and the also hog all the heating vents, too!

I do used butter with the gelcap...I don't think it impresses, Trix, though. It does help make it a little slimy, though....you know, so it can really pick up fuzzies when she spits it out :woot:!!!

Back to work....:arghh::arghh::arghh:....

I'm glad that you are getting some snuggly kitty time. Simon doesn't get on the couch with me anymore, but at least he still snuggles in bed.
Amy, I think I am way behind on all the news since I was MIA for a few months. I need to catch up on the issues with your partnership. It sounds like you have had some tough times. As everyone else says, 1 year can go pretty fast.

Aw, and I was thinking they were being so snuggly because they LOVE me :(o_O:)!
Don't listen to them, it's all about the kitties lovin you!! :bighug::joyful:

I admire so much how you and others like Tricia can pill successfully- sorry you had a little trouble this morning though, that would have me in tears! Hope you had a good day today, despite having to go to work!

Gelcap went down on the second try this evening....phew and wahoo!

@Georgia...with the partnership, it's just become weathered by time. We have different ideas, different goals, and different views on a lot of big topics (which normally doesn't factor into business, but we spend a lot of time in close quarters...it's unavoidable). It's just time for me to work on my own...really, it's in my genes to be independent.

Ruth..I almost was in tears! I know I can get the pill down eventually, but I hate her being upset about it, plus I was desperately tired and wanted my BTB! But, it went down...I didn't get my BTB but she comes first anyway.

I am so glad I don't have troubles pilling. Neko continues to love her pill pockets, and civie Theo gets a piece too so they continue to think it's a treat. Have you tried Trix again lately with them? Or that paste that Tricia uses?

Love the lap kitties - I'm pretty sure that's how they show love. They lap in the summer too.:) We've got two lap cats here - it was a criteria when we were looking at kitties at the shelter and got Neko.

Hi Amy :):coffee:

YAY! it is nice to see lower BG's. Good job Trixie. But....on the gelcap. Give mama a break ok? I know they are no fun, but they keep you feeling good, so down the hatch, 'K?
Sorry pilling was such a hassle today Amy. I used to hate that when it happened with Mannie. There too were those days.... I'd look at that mushed up slobbered on mangled rejected mess in my hand and want to cry and scream at the same time. o_O I am glad thought that most of the time they go down OK for you.

Nice (!!!) on the lap cats! Bug has started doing that at night when I sit to read or watch TV. It is always good to read about kitties becoming lap cats. Keep on cuddling up Trixie! :cat:

Have a great rest of your evening.

Nice blues for Trixie today. I'm sorry about the gel cap problems this morning. I’m glad it went down easier tonight. How nice on the kitties snuggles on the couch.
