I heard Purrdy getting his test over the phone this morning, not only does this cat not mind he begs for it! So funny, as soon as mum got the towel to put on the bench where she tests he set to meowing his head off until she got him up there. Then he has one treat and lies down and waits for his test and until he hears the meter beep before he gets up again for his next treat - nice that he's so treat driven!

Not quite a member of the CPC this morning and with mum being out until+5 and that 42% drop to +2 we've aborted this cycle with 12 pieces of CD Hills dry kibble :( chances are he would have been fine but mum has put all her trust in me with this and I didn't feel I could take that risk with her kitty.

We will prepare some catsicles in case we find ourselves in this situation again.

Thanks Voula - nice to see you :)

Bit of a comedy of errors around here this morning. In my defence it was 5.30 am and I hadn't yet had :coffee: when I had to make the call on what to do with Purrdy.

In retrospect when mum said he hadn't quite finished his breffis that was my clue that he wouldn't have gobbled down any food she put out straight away. That being the case what we should have done is shut his civvie sister Dolly (the queen of scarf everything that's not nailed down, and then barf ) into a separate area of the house and left a bowl of LC wet out for Purrdy :banghead:. Oh well you live and you learn.

And poor mum, I'd told her last night that if he didn't have a big drop at +2 then she'd be ok not to be back until +5 but definitely to make sure she was back by then. Apparently I didn't explain the implications of an aborted cycle to her very well (or at all ). Church went a little longer than expected so she abandoned the lady she had chauffeured there (ok not quite abandoned she did find another lift home for her) so she could race home in time for +5 :banghead:

Never mind, the main things is that all is well :cat:

Nice surf going there Purrdy!

Poor mum - there is so much to learn with FD. I know I was watching the clock to the minute when I started out.

Hi Serryn. As long as all is well with everyone then that is the main thing. Your mum is lucky to have you with your knowledge and experience to help her and Purrdy too.

tee hee hee doesn't look like that dry food touched the sides - on the other hand if he's not carb sensitive how will he go in low numbers :nailbiting::nailbiting::nailbiting: tee hee there's always something to worry about isn't there :)

- we do have honey

Yes there does seem to be always something to worry about and if there isn't we can find something to worry about. I know I worry too much and it achieves nothing really but I still do it. :)

Poor mum. It's always a learning experience. Now she'll have some valuable data. How cute Purrdy begs for his tests.

Hi Serryn!

Looks like the aborted cycle didn't slow Purrdy down! He's looking really good! Poor mum! Learning this dance is so stressful, but she's fortunate to have you guiding her along the way. :bighug:

Church went a little longer than expected so she abandoned the lady she had chauffeured there (ok not quite abandoned she did find another lift home for her) so she could race home in time for +5 :banghead:

I gotta admit, I giggled reading this. I could envision my own mom doing the same thing.

Have a good day!
