Yesterday was all blue, though that +6 tells me she might have been green in the very early morning.

1/5 Recap:
AMPS 118 +7 149 +9 135
PMPS 146 +5 196

It's the grooming hour here. I've got two side by side black & white paw lickers. As much as Neko likes to pretend she's not fond of Theo, it's amazing how many times the "twins" are doing the same thing. Well, maybe it's him copying her.

Tomorrow Neko will not be so happy with me. I got in touch with the dental vetty office and with much running back and forth to consult the vet, the message is that Neko gets to eat half her breffs up to 5:30 AM. So I'll get up to test in the wee hours and feed her then. Some cats (especially those on raw) process food quickly so she should be fine if she has to go to surgery. They said 1/2 dose insulin, I'll see what her numbers are and may do less. She also gets her regular bupe, but I'm to withhold her benazapril. Good thing I called back and thought to ask. Now I get to spend the rest of the day stewing about the dental vetty visit. :nailbiting::nailbiting:

I'm right behind you on a dental and already stewing. Will she be going under anesthesia? They will use gas for Max if is labs come back okay and they always say no food after midnight. This will be the first time as a diabetic for us though. Sending good vetty and dental vines your way as well as calming ones for you.

Sending good dental vetty vines for Neko for tomorrow. I'm glad you got the no feeding thing clarified. How cute on the "twins" doing the same thing.

@elise - first thing is a consult with the vet. Her teeth don't really need a dental, it's for the excess gum growth, so I need to know first if there is something they can do about it. If so, then yes on the anesthesia. Neko had 2 previous dentals and 4 days of anesthesia at CSU so I have an idea what to expect there. I'm going to a dental specialist that has someone who monitors her heart and they have a special rule for diabetics that says they can eat later cause they do want them to have their insulin. Non diabetics have a no food after midnight rule.

Aww how sweet- Neko showing love for Theo! Sending tons and tons of positive vetty vines for tomorrow- so glad you got the instruction in plenty of time! Also sending calming vines for you, I hope this specialist can hep Neko to feel better! :bighug:

More vetty vines on the way for Neko's appointment tomorrow. I hope you get some answers on the excess gum growth. Do Neko's gums bother her?

Have a good evening, Wendy, and stay calm!!

Hugs, scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Quick little turn around this afternoon. She finally found some wrapping paper under the tree to play with (tree's real and still up).

@ Elise, Carla, Ruth, Liz, Ella - It helps having done this before. Neko is doing what sounds like tooth grinding. She did this last year before a dental, and vetty filed back her right canine and the sounds went away. It started up again a couple months ago. I managed to get it on video so I'll show the vet what she does. Occasionally she'll paw at her mouth after eating.

ETA: just missed you Ann. Normal breffs is 7:30 so cutoff means early breakfast! Course she doesn't get as much to eat.

Wishing you both the best on the dental. Thanks for taking the time to give advise to me .
Most of the time I can deal with the FD but some days it gets to me. Thanks again, Peg and Toby

Synchronized kitty baffing makes me smile. :cat:

Looks like Neko turned that little bounce right back around today. Lucky girl gets early breffis tomorrow! Mega vetty vines on their way for Miss Neko!

Ahhhhhh, they really do love each other. Mirror grooming. Or, perhaps it was just coincidence!

Lots of vines for the vetty visit. Easy exam. Easy solutions.
