So, I understood the flat yellow yesterday because I fed the curve to keep him from dropping to quickly. But now Gizmo appeared to be flat pink overnight and so far this morning. Once again, I increase and his numbers go up instead of down. I'm hoping this is just NDW, but Gizmo hasn't seen that's happening lately and before it didn't happen until Cycle 2 or 3 (which would be today and tonight). Frustration is setting in again! Gizmo I need to see some blues and greens soon!

Sorry for your frustration. Come on Gizmo, walk down the beach and hop in the water.

Very frustrating for sure. The flat yellow cycle looked promising and with the increase last night this could be some NDW. Let's see if he popped up before he plans on coming back down. Bubba used to do that.

Yes very frustrating I agree. With Acro in the mix it makes things even more unpredictable. I used to have Beenie's cycle down now I have no idea what the cycle will be like. On the flip side there are plenty of kitties that don't have Acro or IAA in the mix and they are even harder to figure out, I think. Wendy recently posted to me when I was getting frustrated about the "numbers" that she herself didn't even question them anymore she just did what the numbers told her to do. Increase, decrease, hold and not get caught up in the who what where when and why. It's really the best way to try and look at it. For now I've been way less frustrated and I'm sure I'll get frustrated again too but I have to remind myself that this is a chronic condition that just takes monitoring and patience. Our kitties are very fortunate to have such loving caring fur parents. There are plenty of kitties that don't even get a chance to try and manage FD because their caretakers don't want to be bothered or could care less. Gizmo is one of the very lucky ones to have you!!!
Gizmo will certainly get back to blues and greens again. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Well, Gizmo has decided to throw us a curveball today. He dropped almost 100 points from +2 to +3. I fed him his regular snack and we ran to the store. Upon return at almost +6, he was 77! Of course the fact that we have plans tonight with family who are back to visit from out of state would have nothing to do with any of this. At least we are visiting at my parents house and I can return to check Gizmo if necessary. Or... we just might have to move the visit to my house after supper.;)

Did he hear you discussing these plans? :D

Glad he gave you some good numbers. Maybe he won't bounce too bad:smuggrin:

Nice blues and greens today. I think the bounce is in progress. The before bed test will tell for sure. My only concern is if he got to 77 on just cycle 2 of 7 units, what is going to happen when the depot is filled and no one is home to monitor this week (after tomorrow)? Should I be thinking about leaving higher carb food for his +3 snack? I'm not really sure how to keep him safe by leaving food when I'm not here. This is all new and scary to me.

Sometimes they will give you hints about what a dose is capable of, before the depot is filled. Could be that hint you saw today. The previous dose wasn't doing much. Leaving higher carb in the autifeeder is always an option.
