Yesterday's sick kitty

After an awful night and a really worried mamabean, China's doing better today!
It was a slow start...still not 100% on her appetite at AMPS, but no puking so far today and I'd rather see the high 100's than the mid 200's anytime (if I have to anyway)
As the day has gone on, she's shown more interest in food so I've been giving her small meals when she's seemed interested. Not worried right now about what kind of effect feeding late in the cycle might do to her numbers...more interested in keeping her eating
Heard from the vet...wish I'd written down the numbers she gave me but basically she said her kidneys are stable...the BUN was a little better than it was in March but the creatinine was a little higher (but not much) so I'm happy about that. They're going to send me the test results so I'll have the numbers.
She suggested doing a USG to further check on how her kidneys are doing so we'll plan on doing that next time we go in.
As for the coughing, she said she didn't see anything that just SCREAMS asthma, but we should do a chest x-ray to see what's going on in there. Had to bite my tongue because when we were there last week I had asked for one but she wanted to get the BW done first.
BG was 187....which she was duly impressed with considering the stress of the trip. At least she does understand and accept the fact that stressed numbers can be different from numbers at home!
Had our first frost last night and there's a chill in the air today...which just means I'm getting more kitty snuggles!
I keep my thermostat on my heater pretty low for cost reasons, so snuggling with kitties is what I call "mutually beneficial".....although I got to say I wish I could package and re-sell the heat that comes off of 60lbs of cats!! If you get too warm with a blanket, you can toss it off....ever try to toss 3 cats that are dead to the world, comfortable and don't WANT to move??
Hoping we have a better evening tonight than we did last night. So far, so good!
