Yesterday at Tricia's House of Chaos

The sun is setting and I'm rushing to get this in before dark, so I can say I did it! I just don't know where the days go!

Cinco went back to work today and actually stuck around for almost a full shift! :D:D:D He was so happy to see his buddies at the lagoon and that Rusty didn't fire him for his long absence. He's hoping to be back to full time soon.

I took his collar off this morning to weigh him (he's gained again - I think I need to cut back on his fuds a little) and decided to try leaving it off. He had a blast, scratching his ears and washing. I had to intervene a couple of times when he got a little too enthusiastic on his bare patches, but so far he hasn't made me put it back on. He headed off to the litter box, and I thought "oh good, this should go well, without the collar". Silly me, I forgot to say "anti-jinx"! As soon as he got all four feet on a pee pad, he started peeing! Problem was, his butt was still over the carpet! :banghead::banghead::banghead: I hollered, but of course there was no stopping him. Then I noticed he had earlier also pooped outside the box - on a pee pad, thank goodness. I have NO idea what that was all about, but I had to leave the room to calm myself down, after I treated the area.:mad::mad: ETA: Just now, after he ate his dinner, he went over and stood on the first pee pad he came to (over the area where he peed earlier) and peed! Luckily, this time he got it all on the pad. Now I'm wondering if he has a UTI???

Minka still wasn't eating today. I syringed a total of 14 ccs of food. She didn't seem nauseated after all her meds, but she just sniffed at the food I offered. It's weird the way she does it - sniffs all around it, and looks like she might lick it, but then doesn't. It's almost like she doesn't know what to do. Could she be getting senile? When I syringe feed her, she doesn't try to pull away (until she's had enough) and has even licked the syringe. I gave her some Fancy Feast and she eventually ate a couple of bites, after doing the sniff thing. She just now did the same with some other food. I am trying to remember to give her the baby food squash every day, as I hadn't seen any of her little nuggets the past couple of days and I suspect that's a part of her problem. I gave her some yesterday and today and just a little while ago she deposited a nugget in the lb - it didn't look as dry as they usually do. So maybe that's helping. ETA: I just took a break from this to serve dinner, and she ate some! She's had three goes at it so far and it's about halfway gone. Baby steps, but :).

Sasha didn't like this morning's entree or wasn't hungry - whatever. She had some baby food later and a few snacks through the day. She's eaten about half her dinner so far. It's warmer today and a bit muggy, so I'm blaming the weather.

Weather doesn't bother Harvey Hoover. This morning I gave him his tummy meds, and ten minutes later he threw up clear liquid AND the meds! I gave him another dose and he was right under foot, eager to eat! He ate half his breakfast right away, then took a break and finished it more slowly. He's been eating all day. When I weighed him this morning I found he'd lost weight again - 4 ounces in the last 10 days. Since April he's lost a pound and a half, despite his excellent appy. I wish that Fructosamine test would come back - I'm getting more and more sure he's got FD. :nailbiting::arghh:

Another novel from THoC. Never a dull moment around here. I'm off to try to fill some gelcaps, something I've been trying to do for a week now. Minka's out of several of her supplements because I haven't gotten this done. bbl.

Still holding Ann & John in our hearts as we all try to come to grips with a Tess-less L&L Land. :(

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans, especially Sienne & Gabby, Deborah & Shasta, Carla & her civvie Baby, Wendy & civvie Theo, and Marje & Gracie. :bighug: Prayers continue for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF and DH, Marje's DM, Chris' DM, Molly's DM, and Elise's DM.

Always busy at your house!!

OK Cinco - you get some latitude but you really should use the LB or at least hit the pads!!

Girls, start eating!! Mama has better things to do than run around after you to eat!

And you Harvey, no more pukies!

Thanks, Anne. It worked. Minka just cleaned her plate!

Yo Cinco!! Thanks for taking my shift at the lagoon this morning! I'm working the night shift....why don't you come join me and we'll play and splash and have such a good time!

YEAH for Minka and the CPC!! ....Sasha, it's your turn now!!

Still hoping for good fructosamine results for Harvey...although if it's not FD, I know you're going to worry about why he's eating so well and still losing weight...Kind of a no win situation

I don't know how you do it and stay sane! Kudos to you. Eat everybody. I'm glad Cinco is back on track. Tell him to invite Max in but not too deep boys.

The situation, and the way you describe it! I'm sure he thought he was right to go this morning since his feet were in an acceptable place. Reminded me of Vyktor before I made him the tub lb. He would get into the smaller low sided tray and then pee straight over the edge and onto the floor, luckily there's no carpet there though.

Well, he's got a HUGE lb to pee in, just a foot away from where he has decided to squat. I can't move the lb to that spot, as it is the opening to our walk-behind bar, and the bar is already challenged by the presence of this GIANT litter box on the floor. I guess laughing about it is better than crying!

It's nice to see all that green for Cinco. I hope he starts peeing in the lb and not just on the pee pads. Yay that Minka ate. I hope you get the test back soon for Harvey. Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug:

Morning Tricia :coffee::coffee::coffee:

What a nice run for Cinco. Love those greens. Bummer on the LB thing, but I so remember the days with the original three here. We had our fair share of that too. never fun.

You sure are busy there. Kudos to you for taking such good acre of the furkids. Awesome job!

Enjoy your day today. :)

Nice splashing, Cinco. In the Lagoon, that is. Sloshing around "near" the litter box doesn't cut it, though. Your mantra for a while: in the box, in the box, in the box. And when you've got that down, come teach my Fuzzy...he pees on throw rugs; he poops next to the box in the cat room. I have one of those plastic-type table cloths down so clean up isn't too bad!

Girls. Eating is good. How bout eating when the food is served instead of keeping the bean on edge waiting for you to decide to gobble. I know, asking a lot.

Lots of vines for Harvey. An enigma.

Tricia, you are amazing with all those babies and the support you give everyone here. I truly appreciate you helping me with Doodles. Sending good vibes for better eating and in LB usage!

Maybe Cinco thinks the pee pads are "acceptable" since he's used them several times now?? I hope he decides the box is better soon!!

I'm glad Minka's appy picked up. Back when Trix's appy was crappy and unpredictable, I pretty much syringed on schedule (two syringes in the morning and two in the evening, spaced by about 2 hours - in addition to anything she ate on her own), no matter what, rather than waiting for her to decide if she wanted to eat or not. I don't know if that would help Minka or not, but since doesn't seem to mind the assistance, it could be worth a try.

I hope you've gotten word about Harvey's BW by now!!

What a nice surf! And freedom from the collar! Well, dine Cinco, uh, except for the peeing!

Paws crossed for Harvey's tests.
