Having a much better day all around here!! Of course Miss China is doing her part and paddling safely around the lagoon which makes her mama very happy!!

There's a new lady that moved into mom's apartment building about a month ago that has taken a big interest in her lately and goes down to check on her several times a day as well as bringing her breakfast and lunch today. She's been dropping in at night to "tuck her in" as well. I truly appreciate her attention, especially since I've been so weak the last few days and I'm glad to know that mom is safe and eating.

She made ham, eggs (over easy...mom's favorite), fried potatoes and juice for breakfast and hot dogs and fries for lunch and said mom ate well (yeah!!)

The only thing that bothers me is how quickly she's latched onto mom....I mean I really do appreciate her eyes and ears, but my spidey senses are going off for some reason. Mom doesn't have much in the way of valuables so if her intentions aren't good, she's not going to get much.

I'll also be talking to mom on the phone (or call to talk to her) and Connie will take the phone from her or answer it and I never end up being able to actually talk to mom. I'm hoping she's just over-enthusiastic but it's still kind of strange to have SO much help after having so little ....Not sure how to take it.

Of course if her intentions are good, she could be the answer to many prayers....I may have to hire her!!

I hope Connie is just being good neighbour. Some people are like that. My parents have one up the street who will come in the door with a load of wood for the wood box each time he visits. And another who often drops by with casseroles. Sending you heaps of feel better vines so you can visit for yourself.

Sending belated but strong healing vines for you and your mom. Sorry to hear about her fall and possibly not being able to see her show in Branson. I hope your mom's new friend is a true friend but I know all too well about the "Spidey Senses" being alerted!

Haha I was that person for my elderly neighbor, she was a great person and hey I was available when she needed help, and she was a neighbor..when her daughter asked if I wanted anything after she passed away I asked for a photograph of her mom my friend. They held her funeral until I could get back to town...we shared my big red cat Buster..she was a really neat person, I miss her.
Her daughter didn't like me much until after her mom passed ( she wrote me a lovely thank you note and told me so! Adding it was because she was jealous) and we became really good family type friends ( she is now 88 btw) and now I help her..
But there is definitely something to spidey sense radar....if it's going woot woot might bear looking into..maybe the new lady just needs company or someone to help to feel useful....or maybe like me she genuinely likes your mom and spending time with her!

Chris, I also hope Connie is just a nice woman who likes to help (maybe she's lonely herself), but once you're feeling better and it's safe to visit your mom, I suggest you have a chat with Connie and tell her you'd like to get to know her better, since she's spending so much time with your mother. No such thing as being too careful where your loved ones are concerned.
