Jack is up to his old tricks. He is hanging higher during the day and dropping low at night. I've needed some sleep so I think I might be over-carbing him a bit at night, or he might be having small bounces that are clearing quick. IT feels a bit like "too much looks like too little" but that is just speculation. He is much perkier and seems to be feeling better after the poops firmed up.
The litterbox camera is coming in handy. I keep a window open on my PC and if I see him head back there I grab my pee spoon and get a free catch. I am starting to measure his USG to see any kidney trends. I don't know how my refractometer compares to what they are using, but it is the standard for our fish tanks and is calibrated. The first results were not far off from the ones I got from the labwork. 2 years ago I would have laughed if you said I would have a camera to catch my kitties tinkles and measure it
The things we do for our babies.
He gets a regular human probiotic, but it does not have the S. Boullardi which is good for gi issues. I received some slipper elm bark supplements the day the poops firmed up
. I think it was the food that was doing him in.
He liked a chunky food I got, then the new case of the same food was pate and it did NOT agree with him. Switched again to a Weruva brand and same thing. Within a day of going back to the original food, better poops. Both new foods had xanthan gum in them which I suspect he might be sensitive to. I'm not thrilled with the current food, but it is keeping him more regular at least until I find something else.
I'm going to try to exchange the pate food(got it at a nice local mom and pop), and try a small amount of raw food again.
For any RadCat users, how do you deal with the frozen tubs? I have some little tupperwares I got from the last trial and would cut and measure single meal portions. I'd leave them in the freezer and put one or two in the fridge to thaw before meals. I didn't like how some of the frozen chunk seemed to thaw as my hand went numb trying to hold and cut it up. Hopefully the store has some primal nuggets or something precut into smaller portions.
My thoughts are with Michelle and Megan as they deal with the crossing of their furry friends.

Just on today after a few days off. Are you using any probiotics with Jack? When Bubba had his GI pudding stuff, I did the Florastor and then a few days beyond. Then I started him on Slippery Elm Bark as a maintenance dose and so far so good. Keeping good thoughts for you and Jack.
