+3.5 42. Looks like we're going to have a repeat of yesterday. She's in eating more of the MC I left for her before I left. She didn't eat much, earlier, maybe a teaspoon or so, but she's happy to have it now.

I know this is a dose decrease. Do I do something between 0.25, or are we looking at starting a two week trial, here?

I'm not an "expert" here, but Freckles is a new diabetic. I believe in safety first. The next dose to try is 0.1u. Do you know how to measure that? Then the dose after that is a drop. Then the OTJ trial. You are getting close. :D

Lannie, wow! I know you go back out fur another class in couple hours. Are you retesting in about 10 minutes to make sure Freckles is coming up over 50? Please post. Boy is your baby working you out! :cat::eek::)

Ahem - if asking for dose advice, it's good to have the SS up to date. ;)

It's possible the 0.5 unit dose is still in play today. We don't usually do back to back reductions. However, given that you skipped last night and she still went diving, you could try the 0.1 unit dose. Just be prepared to take it back up to 0.25 units it looks like the reduction isn't holding. At this point, and this close the "no insulin" dose, her spreadsheet should be solid green if she was ready for a trial. To try to help get those green preshots, you might try feeding her a small snack (2-3 tsp) at +8 or +9. If her pancreas is mostly working, it should kick in at the snack and bring her numbers down for preshot. Note, the late snack is only something we suggest for kitties on tiny doses and close to trials.

Gah! I swear, I'm trying.o_O

So the 102 at AMPS is an indicator that she's not quite there, as well as the 102s on the 29 & 30?

@Wendy&Neko what would you do for the dose?

I can get up and feed her a snack in the early morning. We'll see how she likes getting taken off the bed to go eat.:)

You can try the 0.1 unit dose. It's possible that her pancreas is ready to come back from vacation. However, experience here is that there are stronger remissions if you can safely keep kitty on some insulin support as long as possible instead of rushing to OTJ.

I'll do what is best to get her into a solid remission. I just would love to also not have her BG so terribly low. We'll see how things are looking closer to pre shot time.

+6.5 46. Feeding 2-3 more tsp. LC with maple syrup again. She eats it much better than the HC FF.

ECID but for what it's worth, you may want to experiment with different sugars or try more drops of syrup, it doesn't seem to give her a decent increase what you are giving right now, 10 points might as well be nothing when you consider meter variance. I started with honey and found it didn't do so much to bring Asia's numbers up, 20 points if I was lucky, I got corn syrup (Karo) and she responded much better to it and didn't need as much as the honey to give her a decent hike and it keep her numbers up a bit longer as well.

I have a question. If it would be better for Freckles to be on a dose longer, so that she comes off insulin more slowly, should I feed her higher carb food on a regular basis?

With it being close to the end of the cycle, you don't need the syrup. You don't want to abort the cycle and drive up the numbers for the PMPS. LC is fine.

Here we are. PMPS 83. What do I do? After her drop from 101 this morning, I don't see why she'd stay up tonight. But if those more experienced than I think I should shoot, I'll shoot. I'll shoot 0.25 or 0.1 or a drop. Whatever is best for Freckles. Or I won't shoot at all.

Thanks. I forgot to change this when I didn't shoot.

Good job on the rowing!

@Mandy & Rex, @Wendy&Neko, @Stacy & Asia

Should I feed her higher carbs to keep her blood sugar up and her dose the same for a longer amount of time?

She seems on a mission, I’m not sure it matters. I would just keep feeding her what you feed her and see if there is a dose you can shoot am & pm. Freckles is obviously calling the shots here! ;)
