1/30 Condo

I'm moved. Me, the kitties, everything from a 700 sq ft apartment and everything from a 10 x 10 storage unit are all in one place. We're in MUCH bigger quarters. Gabby and Giz made the trip over - Gabby expressing her displeasure -- well in advance of the movers and had complete run of the master BR. They knew something was up when I locked them in the master bath so the furniture and boxes for the BR could be delivered. Giz entertained everyone with the paw under the door trick.

Gabby's BG was sky high at PMPS (which was late) but gradually improved. Initially, she didn't want to eat and refused her +1 but decided that the +2 meal was OK. They now have run of the place an are still getting used to their surroundings. It's started to snow (thank you weather gods for delaying the snow until after the move!) and Gizmo is in his cat tree watching the snowflakes descend into the courtyard.

I have way too many boxes. I can't find my silverware or chef's knives yet. (The guy who did the packing didn't mark the boxes well.) There's one wardrobe box that's on the wrong floor -- I want my bathrobe!) I also want my fairy godmother to stop by and with a bibidy-bopedy-boo magically get all the boxes unpacked and have everything in it's place. The developers of the condo moved down to the last remaining unit in our 3-plex. I've been admiring their outside chairs in the courtyard. They are so lovely -- they saw the chairs at Lowes and offered to pick them up for me. I think I'm going to like my neighbors! And the bonus is that my realtor who is a lovely man, lives across the street.

Time to go unpack more boxes!

Morning, guys. I'm so glad to hear that you're all moved over there, and are settling in nicely. It sounds like Gabby and Gizmo are going to have a blast, especially Gizmo. If you have hardwood floors, that'll be fun to watch him scamper across them, and slide. LOL :D You'll find everything eventually, and get things squared away. The best thing is... You can do a little at a time, or a lot at a time. :) Be sure to take breaks, and get some snuggle time in with the babies. :D Your outdoor furniture sounds lovely. Enjoy! :D

Congratulations on the move! That is always stressful for cats and humans. I am sure the cats will have fun finding new look out points and places to hide.

You must be relieved to be in and that the snow held off! It sounds like everyone is getting used to the new place, and it sounds fabulous!!

Hi Sienne,
Your new place sounds roomy and great--wow, a triplex! Stairs are the very best exercise. When we moved from our 3-story brownstone in Brooklyn to a 1-bedroom apt. in Manhattan (BIG mistake!!), we had no stairs and made it a point to go out every day to run the stairs by the Bethesda Fountain in Central Park (after 5 years we moved back to Brooklyn--to a 4th-floor walk-up).

I know that the kitties and you will enjoy your new place and we are wishing you lots of fun unpacking!

Morning Sienne :coffee::coffee::coffee:

CONGRATS on the new digs. They sound awesome. I think maybe some photos are in order... :) All sounds awesome! Good luck with the unpacking etc. Such a long process, but rewarding in a way, and exciting.

I like your BG Gabby. A nice start for you today. Surf well, and be sure and help mama with the boxes.

Enjoy your day Sienne. I hope all goes well.

There are still too many boxes!
Did you ask the cats? They must be loving all the extra toys around the place.

Sounds like you've got the basics unpacked and can maybe take a break and enjoy your new home. I love that Giz is already on courtyard watch. Have the kitties lived in a place with stairs before? Civie Theo hadn't, and he was hilarious to watch the first few times.

There were stairs in the home of Gizmo's breeder. Gabby has never seen stairs.

Much to my amazement, the cats have shown no interest whatsoever in the boxes. To let them off the hook, given the number of trees that died in service of the paper that everything in the boxes have been wrapped in, as soon as I empty the box, it's filled with paper. Gabby has been snoozing most of the day per usual. She seems happiest when I take a break and she gets to cuddle.
