After a sleepless night with some numbers that weren't scary, just did a +11 and got a 51 and AMPS due in 30 minutes. Advice and guidance needed.

I'm sorry no one is replying. I can only advise you to stall w/o feeding to see if Disco is coming up. For a first green # to shoot the 50s are a bit low, even though they are a safe # to shoot. Hopefully someone will be around very soon.

I'm so sorry no one else responded...I don't get an email or anything when I'm tagged...I have to come back to the board to see any 'alerts' - not helpful since I'm working on another computer and can't ride this forum all day

But it looks like you had great support and help from Briere! Thankfully she was there!! And it looks like Disco came up on his own - yeah!

I'm sure you read and re-read the what to do in case of low numbers...and that was right on the line.

Thanks for following up! I don’t know what I would do without this group and everyone’s help! Encouraging messages saying I’ll be an old pro at this someday! I will have to say this morning was not as anxiety ridden has past low numbers although I am pretty tired today from lack of sleep LOL

I’ve got the low numbers info printed out and in a page protector and actually I’m getting better at reading while anxious!

Way to go @Teri (Disco NoFurNo) !!!

It's a good idea to get a +1 and +2 when you first start shooting lower numbers so if you need to intervene with higher carb food, you can do it early.

Sorry I just got this. @Briere Fur Mom gave you perfect advice to stall without feeding. Often when kitties are lower at the end of a cycle, they will often start to zoom up in bounce mode like Disco did this AM .

I know exactly what you mean - those pre-shot lows will make your heart skip a beat! But you'll get there - it takes time an this FD dance is a tricky one...we like to push our kitties along the road to remission...but sometimes they have other ideas and will fall right off - so that's why we have to be careful and diligent. It would be so helpful if they could tell us when their pancreas is starting to work again - all that feline mystery stuff...sometimes it's just toooo much!
