Titan 2/22.

Morning to everyone, Titan had a good day yesterday but early this morn returned to his no appetite, not thirsty and lethargy. He's warm to the touch but sleeping comfortably. It's been awhile since we have seen an AMPS that high but I think it's due to his condition. Vet appt is at 3pm so hopefully we can find the issue. I thought we only had a 24hr bug but it appears that's not the case. Oh well, paws crossed we can get to the bottom of it. Peace to all and tail pulls for the kitties :cat:. Ed

Sorry Titan isn't feeling better, hope the vet has some answers or at least a few meds to help him get over the hump. Feel better, Titan, there's pizza in it for you if you perk up! ;):bighug:

Just back from seeing Dr. Becky. Titan had perked up a bit before his visit even had a small lunch b4 we left. His blood work came back fairly normal. White blood cell count slightly elevated, red blood cell count slightly down and potassium slightly down. I'll put in labs when I get a chance. Dr Becky said that those results point towards possible pancreatitis. So we are treating as if. He got fluids at the vet office and we have a bag of saline if needed over the weekend. He's getting cerenia and metronidazole for the next week. On the bright side his BG was 154! I'll take that.

Good to hear Titan perked up a bit. Are you getting the blood test for pancreatitis done? Are you getting any pain meds such as buprenorphine? Pancreatitis can be painful.

Sending feel better vines.

Poor Titan, I hope it's short lived and he's feeling better soon, hope he gets something for the pain as well if you think he's in pain. I could tell Asia wasn't having a good time when she was diagnosed with pancreatitis and I increased her pain meds during that time, it helped. :bighug:

Not the blood test for the specific pancrease lipase yet. Dr Becky said there was enuf evidence in the general blood panel to start treatment and see if there is improvement. We talked about bupe, Titan is not in much pain and his temp at the vet office was normal. He gets very agitated on it and doesn't it mess with the BG a bit? We will go that route if conditions worsen. He's much improved tonite but I'll need to see a few days in a row. His wed/thur/fri up and down was unnerving.

Many cats here have been on bupe. I haven't seen it raise the BG of any of them. In fact, treating pain can lower the BGs. If Titan is getting agitated on bupe, maybe the dose was too high. Gabapentin is another pain reliever that was Neko's vet's second choice. We tried it a bit, but it just made her sleepy, but I have seen it work well on some cats.

I hope the green means he's feeling better.
