That's what I suspected, I figured I couldn't have been the first person to think it might be possible to plateau at consistent blues. It seems when they need more juice, even promising cycles fizzle out, which is what happened to Maverick last night.
Thanks Darrah! Ultimately, I think I will need to give Levemir a try, just working through the Lantus insulin vial that I have left
.
What a weird night. Maverick's cycle looked promising, but he only managed to sneak down to 94 then crept back up. He was full of energy though, the cheeky monkey refused to come to bed, kept romping around, running up and down the hall, played with the civvie, and then his spongy ball when even the civvie finally called it a night and came to get sleep.
I increased this morning, though I was really tired, I think it may have been a skinny 1.5u, I couldn't see the line very well

Unfortunately, they don't "get used to blues" as an intermediate step. Many have tried but I haven't seen any succeed. More juice also lowers the high numbers. The pinks have crept back in at 1.25 units.

I'd seriously give the Levemir a go, Alicia. You know how Girlie bounced and dove. Levemir truly changed things for us in that department, even though she doesn't get the longer duration that some other cats get. It doesn't take long to get used to how Levemir works or figure out how it's a little different from Lantus. The biggest thing is the (usually) later onset and (for some cats) longer duration. But Girlie is unpredictable there and doesn't really fit into the "four hour past shot onset"; she's usually a +3 onset, but can onset a little earlier, though that would be rare. That later onset can work really nicely in certain situations. Good luck, good luck, whatever you choose to do!!!![]()
