Yuppers, today it's six months since Polly completed her SRT at CSU. Seems much more distant. So glad we could do it. First, her insulin needs have come from 10.0 U (and probably climbing) down to 3.75 U. Or thereabouts!
But more importantly, she really shed her shy shell on that trip. She comes out to see company and hangs out even if they bring their dogs; before she'd hide. Every now and then she smacks her intimidating sister; before, if Rowsie got "the look" Polly would run to a corner or under a chair and growl. And she's found her voice. OMG, has she found her voice! Yowls for food. Yowls for attention. Yowls with each successful LB trip. Yowls, just because she can! Before, I suspect she'd feared making noise; someone might notice her.
To all of LLL, thanks for everything that got us to CSU. For coming along with us if you were here back in September...at least in a cyber sort of way. (I still laugh thinking about the pix Anne and Liz found to illustrate some of the highlights!) And for all the help before, during and after the SRT. Oh, and all the help we'll still need!
Her numbers are strange since the reduction Monday morning. I'll still hold a tad before calling this a failed reduction. Sometimes it takes the little slow progressor eight cycles or more to figure out where she's going. 'Til then, we'll ride the roller coaster. Wheeeeeee.
The Amazing Journey continues.
Vines and wishes.
