Just a post and run. Doctor's appt. for me in St. George. Gotta leave in 20 minutes. Four hours round trip for a 20 minute Dr. visit. Every six months. Follow-up to chemo completed two and one half years ago. As usual I'm expecting a very uneventful visit! Here's how they all go:
Dr.: How have you been feeling?
Me: Just fine. How's my bloodwork?
Dr.: Perfect.
Me: Good. See you in six months.

Then we talk about her bike rides, my animals, and any exciting future plans. Like her lots.

Polly's been fine. This morning she was rolling around out in the enclosure and wiggling on the pavers getting lots of back scratching done. Windows are open; she'll spend some of the day sill slouching. Numbers perplex me. Wide ranging. Maybe a bump up in dose? Maybe not. Two more cycles and then I'll ... oh, I dunno.

Boomer, CKD 15 year old civvie, has a dental tomorrow. I'm anxious about it, but it has to be done.

Hope to visit later.

Vines and wishes.

Vines for tomorrow's dental for Boomer. Polly, stay right where you are. I think Max is close by now.

At least she isn't taking her bouncing to extremes like some kittehs who will not be mentioned. Have a safe drive. Do you like pictographs? There is this weird little park in a golf course community. Right in the middle of the houses it's about the size of one lot. In the middle of it is a huge boulder, split in two. It is covered w/ancient pictographs!

ancienttographs!

Thanks, everyone. Doc visit went as planned. Oh, one change from usual. Instead of "perfect" Dr. G said my b/w was "excellent." I'm thrilled I can be such a success story for her; she's told me that she enjoys seeing me because I've done so well. I'm glad I can give her a happy patient visit every now and then. (Well, pretty darned glad for me, too!)

I guess I over did the carbs left out and about for Polly when I left (see +10!!!!)! But that 71 right before I left (with such a big drop in 30 minutes) threw my socks in a knot.

I really thought she'd surf there based on previous experience, but I couldn't be sure. So she got a dab of hc before I left. To keep the other cats from eating her food, I closed Polly in the bathroom/bedroom suite with two additional plates of hc. And I called in all my karma favors during the drive over and back. Boy, did I call on those favors! Perhaps too much.

'Course my blood pressure was a wee-tad high, but I explained my stress and we didn't have to be worried about those numbers.

I'm sure you all know my absolute gut-dropping relief when I threw open the bedroom door once home and saw the Doodlebug on my bed, eyes bright and round, as if to say, "so, what's the big deal?"

Think I'll buy a timed feeder. And a bottle of vodka. One's for the cat; one's for the bean.

Now, we just have to get through Boomer's dental. Arghhhhhhhhhhhh!

@Ann & Tess . I love petroglyphs and pictographs. My little town sits on Anasazi grounds. Lots of them nearby. One of the tour hikes at Best Friends features ancient rock markings in the Canyon. Awesome. So glad the golf course developers left that beautiful rock. Good for them.

Thanks again everyone.

eta: Wendy, her darn bean gave her the trampoline!

Hard to believe in this day and age you still have to drive 4 hours for a 20 min.visit! However, I pray for a good 20 min visit and a beautiful safe drive for you as well!

Hey Polly- easy on the bounce! Prayers for Boomer tomorrow! :bighug::bighug:

hehe i see Polly read your computer and heard the threat about the dose increase . . . . and she steps up to the plate and gives you some nice greens! WAHOO!

so glad you got a clean bill of health! That's a celebration!

Do you really think Polly is so worried about Boomer's dental that she needs vodka?!? Well, whatever works! A Cat-tini could be just the thing to make her forget the trampoline. ;)

& Yay for a clean bill of health for you! :)
