Doodles 3/1 Very glad yesterday is over. The boy was miserable and I could hardly function with worry. He seems a little better so far today and part of that is for sure his numbers being back on earth. Now we'll see if he can surf or not. With him being so cranky about testing these days it will kill me to have to poke him excessively.

Surf safely kitties.

Looks like the increase is doing it's job and I hope that Doodles doesn't dive on you and you need to poke him a lot today. Sending you hugs Karen as you deal with all of this day after day. I don't know how you do it. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Nice to see you back in blue Doodles! But please stop being cranky with your mama bean! She's only trying to make sure you stay safe!
Karen, I'm happy to hear he's feeling a bit better today! :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Looks like he's off to a great start! Come on, Doodles, show Chino how it's done!

Is he motivated by certain treats in particular? When I've been giving Chino one of his favorites, he actually gets excited when he hears me opening the box of lancets or the vial of test strips.

No, he's not a food motivated cat and doesn't get treats but I'll usually give him a tbsp. of food or it's around his meal time anyway. It's out of character for Doodles to be this cranky. He's a gentle sweet big boy and has been through hell the last 2 years. Hopefully he'll get back to himself soon.

Doodles, you better be nice to your bean and start showing your appreciation. ...and we have all see you surf, so we know you can do it. I've heard it's like riding a bike, just hop on the board and you'll know what to do.

I was out this afternoon for an hour or so on the bike and felt like I needed to go home. When I got home and checked on Doodles a few minutes after he had a horrible coughing spell. I broke down and gave him 1.25mg of the hydrocodone the cardiologist prescribed him back in December with his dinner. Good news he ate pretty good but how terrible to see his whole little body practically convulsing during the coughing spell.

Once again when I got dressed with jeans and "outside" cloths the boy got paranoid and scurried under the bed. He doesn't want to go back to the vetty and not sure I'll be taking him. His next cardio appointment is March 28th so we'll see how it goes. There is nothing "good" that they are going to tell us so why bother anymore.

:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug: I hope the hydrocodone helps.

Sending Doodles anti-coughing vines and lots of good thoughts and prayers. I hope the medicine works and that he will be more comfortable. Is it possible that he has a hairball and that could be complicating his coughing?

Hugs and scritches,

So sorry you and Doodles had such an awful, scary day! I hope the meds helped him and he is more comfortable now. (((Hugs))) to you and gentle scritches to Doodles, and prayers for better days! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Karen, praying for a peaceful , strength increasing night for you and sweet Doodles...that tomorrow is a much better day :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

{{{Karen}}}

I know how hard it is to see and hear your baby suffering and feel powerless to stop it. I pray the meds help him and this rough spot passes quickly.

Sending vines and :bighug:s.

I hope the coughing was a thing of yesterday and Doodles is better today.

Oh God, Karen... I feel for you. I know all too well how scary those episodes are. How is he doing now after the hydrocodone? Any update? Praying for relief and easy breathing for Doodles... and for you. Like I've said in the past, when he breathes better... I'll breathe better. Sending oh so many vines my friend.
