AMPS have crept up but last night was the first greens since his reduction so it was nice to see those, and good solid greens not those 90s he used to stick in if he went there
I was starting to think he was back into his blue funk.
Yesterday was pretty horrible but Vyktor is doing noticeably better this morning. I slept on the floor with him again last night and he was going quite crazy for loves in the early hour,s but he was forgetting his pains and going for cheek rubs - ouch! He has gotten up for food a few times by himself but is still mouthing, pawing at his face and hiding in the cupboard when he eats, but with less crying out/growling.
Thank you for your suggestions, thoughts and vines yesterday. It seems that this faucitis business is going to be as much of a bugger as I thought. The stem cell treatment that Ann and Tess are looking into for Emma seems to show the most promise but I don't know if Australia's there yet, will discuss with the vet. I will also be checking if we have the anti-inflammatory that Wendy and Neko are trialling (duralactin/microlactin) and seeing if we have the antirobe aquadrops as an AB option. I was researching natural options yesterday and unfortunately it doesn't look like there's been much success in this area - as also indicated by Ann and Tess' list of tried and failed. I guess I will still check with the vet naturopath and/or homeopath though - hopefully I won't have to take Vyktor with me! The great thing about Vyktor's vet is that he is open to suggestions and they are quite cutting edge for Western Australia so I think he'll be willing to look into options with me. I also want to check with him if the ligaments were removed with the teeth as they went over the years (not sure if that's standard) because it seems that is necessary for this disease. Meantime I think I should open a compounding pharmacy here!
