3/21 Claudio AMPS 322 PMPS 327

That was a nice big drop last night from the 300's at PMPS to that 192 at 3+. When you have a drop of 100 or more points you probably should get another test an hour or so later. That boy was on a mission last night. Please set an alarm (yes, I know, last thing anyone ever wants to do)..to get up again after an hour or so and test again just in case he's in freefall. It looks like he hit a new low last night and is bouncing today. If he's still dropping you may want to give him some medium or even high carb foods to slow things down.

Night time can often be the time when these kids like to test their water wings...and it's also a dangerous time since mama's are usually tired and we want to get some sleep. A good example of a night time flyer is @Sarah and Blaze - that boy used to just love his night time frolicking in the lagoon - and his poor mama worked all day and would have to stay up half the night with Mr. I'm Going to Go Low at Night...

Goodness gracious I don’t miss those days but I
know Blaze could go back to his night time diving at any time! Right now would be a good time since I’m out of work due to COVID-19! :joyful: These kitties sure do love nigh time lagoon diving though, I’ve totally been there! Hope you’re hanging in there Susan!:)

I thought I only had to make it a point of retesting later if the numbers were in the low blues or in green.
Now I know to retest if the numbers drop 100 or more points.
Thanks for the heads up.

Yeah, I'm hanging by the skin of my teeth. I am so disheartened.
Seeing others posting with less than 150 is so discouraging for me.
Or they are decreasing the dosage while Claudio's dose keeps going up without reaching that optimal dose.
There my jealously rant is over.

Hope everyone has a pleasant weekend !!

Due for another increase tomorrow. So ignore the bounce & do the increase ?

You only have to worry about the timing of the increase when he is bouncing. You don't want to increase on the same cycle he is breaking the bounce, as that can lead to a lot of downward momentum. Be interesting to see one more test tonight. If still not even lower blue, you can increase.

I can sympathize on the "going up while others go down". :bighug: Been there done that. Just know that cats need however much insulin they need, and you will find that dose.

Other than the dose, how is Claudio feeling/doing? A cat is much more than their numbers.
