Still bouncy, but I at least feel safe shooting this number and heading to work for the worst of all "meetings" -- physical inventory of our warehouse

The breakfast trick this morning involved hiding little pieces of duck Pill Pocket in her food. She's still not feeling great, as she didn't greet me by tapping my head 15 minutes before the alarm went off, but at least it's getting her to eat some. I gave a little Pepcid to tide her over until I can pick up the Cerenia and Cypro later. Have a lovely day, LL! Vines to all in need.

ETA: Any tips on getting started with Cerenia? She had a positive response to the injectable in the hospital, but we didn't use it when she was discharged. I know already she responds very strongly to the Cypro.

I just posted in yesterday's condo. If you have questions about the meds, maybe put Cerenia? in the subject line. I hope she slides down slowly today. Yuck on the inventory. I hope it goes by quickly.

What a day you had yesterday! Yikes! No more giving massages for Noodle it lowers her BG too much!

I would be very suspicious that her appy issues are related to her dental issues those resorbtions are painful, not that most kitties will let on. Every time Vyktors had appy issues it's been because of mouth issues and the appy is generally the only indication he's given (once he had some dribbling too).

Hope the stocktake isn't too painful.

Thanks! I'm suspicious of that, too. Unfortunately, as Noodle insists on being paid for massages in treats, I need to wait a month at least for a dental until I pay off some more of her Care Credit bills. What makes me want to try Cerenia is that the teeth are ongoing issues that haven't affected her this strongly before and she does need to eat in the meantime. I don't want to just try the appy stimulant without anti-nausea meds just in case these are signs of nausea I'm observing.

Any tips on keeping her more comfortable in the interim? I water her food down a lot and it's pate so it ends up quite soupy. I suppose I could try a painkiller if she continues to seem uncomfortable. Is bupe my main option there? I'm grateful her vet trusts my observations and instincts and is generally willing to prescribe without a visit.

Are you getting the pills or injections for cerenia? The shots sting many cats and my Tiffany was one of those. The pill isn't absorbed as well so if it doesn't work you might need to discuss a larger dose or try ondansetron (which is what I use). I find the pill takes about 1/2 hour to an hour to work so I would wait on the cyproheptadine until that time as you don't want to have food aversions by stimulating the appetite while nauseous. I always put pills in gelcaps so no comment on taste. I didn't notice any side effects. I hope it works well for you. Oh, I also found that Max who needs a larger amount of some drugs such as ondansetron needs just a sliver of cypro once a day or even every other to get him eating. I don't know how much you gave Noodle or how many times.

I just got cerenia. Shadow did not like the shot at all.
the shot is preferable for kitties who are vomiting.

I think the ondansetron works better too....
but I'm still waiting for the pill form of cerenia....

Thanks for all the information @tiffmaxee and @rhiannon and shadow

She responds really well to Cypro so I'll likely start with no more than 1/4 a tablet of that. The vet didn't say it was injectible Cerenia I'm getting, so I assume it's pills. She takes the duck pill pockets very well, so I'll probably use those if she'll take them, they worked like a charm for her last round of meds. Really stressed out having to leave when she's not eating well, I thought this would all get easier at some point!!

I've only limited experience with Cerenia when Neko had a thankfully short lasting vomiting episode. She was prescribed 1/2 a 16mg tablet a day for 3 days, then every 3rd day. I think I only gave her one day's worth (after an injection at the vet), then she was fine.

And yes, I like bupe for pain.

Be good today Noodle - she's not having so much fun at work today.

Yay! She ate all her food while I was out, so 3oz total for the day so far! I got her meds and will start those closer to PMPS in a couple hours. And her BG is high and she is fine, just like I knew it should be from her SS, she never goes down to greens from a yucky pink bounce preshot!

I was again reminded of how much I like the team at her vet. "Noodle! Oh, I remember Noodle! How is she doing? She's so adorable and sweet!" Better not let the cat hear, lest it feed her already healthy ego. They also said I can drop in whenever I want to weigh her on their scales, which is nice for such a busy office.
